The North Node, on the other hand, represents the next step on your evolutionary path and what you’re growing into in this life. Listen to find out more and hear about what your own nodal placements may mean.

Jupiter encourages us to explore, be hopeful, and have fun, while Saturn provides the necessary boundaries, structure, and challenges we need to grow and, ultimately, accomplish our goals. Together, they help us balance idealism with realism so that we can make contributions to society. You probably already know that there are 12 signs in the Zodiac. And if you’ve been paying attention to astrology for a while, you may even be able to name them all. But as a beginner, what you may not know is that the signs are structured, categorized, and grouped together in two different ways: by element and by mode.
Tune in to find out about the elements and modes and what it means if you have lots of a particular element or mode in your chart.

Every natal chart wheel is divided into 12 sections (those things that look like slices of pizza) called houses. Each of those houses represents a particular area of a person’s life - such as home and family, romance, career, or friendships, to name a few. In this episode, we’ll take a deep dive into the meaning of all 12 houses and discuss which part of your life each one governs. We’ll also talk about what it means when the majority of your planets fall in the bottom half of your chart vs. the top half.
Be sure to download the handout for this episode on Substack. You don’t need to have it on hand while listening (if you’d like to, though, go for it), but it will serve as a great cheat sheet for later!

Have you ever tried to look at your natal chart, but felt completely lost and unable discern what it was you were actually looking at? A natal chart is, quite simply, a snap shot of the sky, as seen from Earth, at the moment of your birth. But if you’re new to astrology, or you’re not accustomed to looking at them, it can be hard make sense of one. What is this pie chart thingy? What do all these crazy symbols mean? In the first episode of Astrology for Beginners, we’ll dissect the different parts of a chart to find out what they are and how they function.
Since it will help to have a visual depiction of a natal chart (and it’s components) on hand for this discussion, be sure you access the handout before listening, accessible on Substack.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn about astrology, but weren’t sure where to begin, you’re in the right place!
Astrology for Beginners is the resource that I – your host – often wished I’d had when I first started learning about astrology. A convenient, free astrology course, this podcast makes learning to understand and read a natal chart super simple.
Here are a couple things to know before you get started:
Because this series is meant to function like a step-by-step guide, it’s best to listen to the episodes sequentially, as each one will build on knowledge acquired in previous episodes.
Some – though certainly not all, or even most – episodes will refer to visual aids or other materials to enhance learning. When this is the case, you can find them on Substack (https://stefaniekateboucher.substack.com). Links will also be included in the show notes.
