Meet the HSHV Pet of the week at https://www.hshv.org/petsoftheweek-2/
Meet Tonka! He’s an energetic boy, friendly, confident boy. Here’s what his foster has to say: “He’s super duper sweet and gentle with his toys, and with humans even when he’s excited! He gets along well with kids and dogs so far, though we’re working on leash training because he wants to make so many friends that he pulls a lot. He’s potty trained and doesn’t chew on things in the house. Loves peanut butter and praise.”
We recommend that Tonka go to a home with kids over 5 due to his size and energy level, and that he meet potential doggy siblings beforehand. Please email [email protected] or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!
He is FREE to adopt if he finds the right match!
All the animals available for adoption through the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their vaccinations and have a microchip I.D. which is included in their affordable adoption fee.

We know that one moment shared by one kid and one mentor, can unlock limitless potential. An important heart to heart, or a simple inside joke can be the crucial expression of care that ignites and empowers a child’s bright future.
Being a Big means challenging, supporting, and collaborating with your Little. It means showing up. It means watching with pride as they begin to realize and own their potential. And standing by their side to defend that potential. In just a few hours a month, a Big and Little can change the world together.
It Takes Little To Be Big.
