Meet this week's HSHV Pet of the Week!
"Hi my name is Ethel! I am a shy kind of dog who is looking for a patient adopter without any other dogs at home, who is willing to give me time to adjust and open up at my own pace. Once I get more comfortable, I will come out of my shell and start to show more of my true personality! If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an adoption survey online or in the shelter."
All the animals available for adoption through the Humane Society of Huron Valley (HSHV) are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on their vaccinations and have a microchip I.D. which is included in their affordable adoption fee.

This event is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals passionate about innovation and sustainability. The meetup will be held at BrightWorks Coworking, so mark your calendars and don’t miss out on this chance to be part of the sustainability movement! Thanks to Dunrie Greiling and William Crane for organizing.
Sponsored by the Green Business Challenge and Ann Arbor SPARK.
BrightWorks Coworking is located at 3027 Miller RoadYou probably missed that, so maybe try Sustainability Forums: Natural Features and Me – Promoting and Protecting Nature in the City Thursday, January 30, 2025, 6 – 7:30pm
Finding ways to connect with nature in an urban landscape can be challenging. Luckily, we have many amazing individuals in the Ann Arbor community who are working to make this task much easier. Please join us at the downtown branch of the Ann Arbor District Library the first session of the 2025 Sustainability Forums series and hear directly from the people who are expanding Ann Arbor's urban tree canopy, creating beautiful rain gardens to manage storm water and reduce pollution, and establishing native plant gardens to support our local pollinators—and learn how you can be a part of these initiatives as well!

Cotton is a gorgeous little girl who is learning to gain confidence! While she’s wary of new people at first, once she comes out of her shell Cotton loves to lay on laps and purr, play with wand toys and eagerly watch everything you’re doing. Secret tip to becoming Cotton’s best friend: offer her a bowl of chunky food with gravy will! Before long she’ll come trotting over to you when you call. If you’ve got a home without other cats, and the patience to let Cotton slowly learn to be brave, she’d love to meet you!
Cotton is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email [email protected] or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!
