"Oh those early days. We started with a clothesline and carabiners, venturing onto cliffs with no adult supervision. Looking back, it's a miracle we survived" 🧗🏾😅

Today, we travel to India 🇮🇳 to meet Mohit Oberoi, a man who turned his passion for adventure into a way of life. Ditch what you think you know about India! Mohit shows a side of that country that may surprise you.

Growing up in the 80s, Mo and his friends were climbing pioneers, questing up cliffs outside Delhi with homemade gear because the sport simply wasn't established. But Mo didn't stop there! Ironman triathlons? Check. 💪 Swim the English Channel? Done. 🏊‍♂️ Ultra-runs across the Himalayas? You bet. 🏃‍♂️ With the spirit of a new learner, Mo learns new sports, and goes on to take them to their apex.

His story isn't all smooth sailing – there have been injuries and setbacks. 🤕 Mo gets right back up, learns from his mistakes, and keeps going.

Welcome to the world of Mo.

🌊"The biggest thing that impacts you when you first go out there, before I even surfed it, I just went out on a on a jet ski and sat there and watched, is the sound it makes when it breaks...its terrifying" 🏄🏽‍♀️

At the age of 59 years and 8 months, Conacher became the oldest person in the world to surf Maverick's 🌊, the "Mount Everest of surfing" 🏔️ one of the most challenging and dangerous surf breaks in the world, located near Half Moon Bay, California.

What makes Conacher's feat truly astonishing is the fact that he didn't start surfing until his 50s, wow! 🤯 Most accomplished big wave surfers start from a very young age, honing their skills over decades of experience. For Conacher to achieve this milestone at an age when most people are contemplating retirement is nothing short of extraordinary. 💪

🌊"I ate 28 cals of chocolate for each mile paddled" 🌊

Katrin Tomanek is a true multi sport athlete who blends her career as a topnotch data scientist, with a passion for pushing physical and mental boundaries through uncommon solo adventures in wild and beautiful places.

Born in Germany, and a former rock climber, the 44-year-old has quickly made a name with some remarkable accomplishments in kayaking and bicycling. Last year she finished a solo kayak trip that spanned over 52 days and with paddling 1,200 miles through the remote Alaskan Inside Passage. She also regularly undertakes bicycling quests such as self-supported bikepacking across the Andes, and also to Burning Man :)

To me what makes Katrin’s feats remarkable are her thoughtful planning, her ability to learn from prior experiences, and the clutch one, to meticulously plan for any / all contingencies.

Katrin's adventures are defined by foresight, spunk, endurance, and the ability to thrive in solo wilderness environments for weeks at a time. How do you avoid getting marooned during king tides, and dodge grizzlies in bear infested landings, listen on!

Rare privilege of meeting with Dr Kevin Starr, accomplished rock climber, big wave surfer and social enterprise CEO. Growing up in San Diego, Kevin fell in love with both the mountains and the ocean, started hiking and climbing around California, and went on to accomplish daring alpine ascents in the Karakorams, Peru and beyond. Moving to San Francisco, Kevin found a good mentor and also started learning how to tackle big waves like the Mavericks outside Half Moon Bay. Along the way he left a perfectly good medical career to grow the Mulago foundation that helps global social entrepreneurs design for impact at scale. Listen in for how Kevin juggles a career as the CEO of Mulago, along with continuing to excel in the outdoors, all while keeping his mind and body in great shape. (And did I just invent the term 'jugglery')

Today, we speak with Dr Carling Ursem, an accomplished trail runner from Northern California. Carling specializes in ultra-runs (runs with distances longer than traditional marathon races of 26.2 miles) and holds many FKTs (fastest known times) all over the Sierra mountains. But that’s not all, she’s also a hard-working oncologist at UCSF, a rock climber, a wife, and is raising two beautiful girls in the coastal town of Marin. In this freewheeling conversation, we dive into Carling’s journey into ultra-running, her training routines, diet, and how she manages to have fun with it all!

“The first time I paddled out, I knew immediately that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life”

Vishal is a talented surfer based out of San Diego, CA and chasing the best waves in California and beyond. Vishal and I met several years ago surfing at the beaches around San Francisco and I grew to deeply admire his work ethic and commitment to the sport. It is inspiring to see how a kid from land-locked Toronto managed to discover the sport of surfing and has committed to putting in the time and hard work in becoming the best surfer he can be.
