Uriel Ventris is the young captain of the 4th Company of the Ultramarines Chapter of Space Marines.
Captain Uriel Ventris was born in the subterranean cities of the Imperial Civilised World of Calth in the Realm of Ultramar and chose to become an Ultramarines aspirant when he came of age to participate in the Chapter's trials. He succeeded in his quest and became an Ultramarines neophyte and then earned his way into the ranks of the Ultramarines' officer corps through his bravery and devotion to the ideals of the Ultramarines primarch, Roboute Guilliman.
However, some of his battle-brothers, like Sergeant Learchus, questioned Uriel's commitment to the Codex Astartes because his friend, mentor, and predecessor Captain Idaeus, though a hero of the Chapter, was known to break the Codex 's teachings regularly.

Ciaphas Cain was an Imperial Commissar. He was in active service in the last century of M41, and was over 200 years old when he was recalled into service during the 13th Black Crusade of Abaddon the Despoiler, and it is certain that he survived more than a quarter of a century into M42. Propaganda made him out to be the hero of the Imperium circa late M41 although in truth he was mainly focused on surviving. (However, he differed from many other Imperial commissars in that he would not readily sacrifice soldiers unless it ensured his own survival.) Cain tried his utmost to avoid engaging in actual combat, but had to anyway to maintain his status as a Hero of the Imperium, which ironically involved him in more dangerous situations than any he would usually see as a commissar. He was responsible for many successful campaigns throughout his career and retired to become a professor at a Schola Progenium.
In M42 the Cain Archive was published among the ranks of the Inquisition. They are sequestered by order of the Holy Ordos, and are kept and organised as the Cain Archive by Ordo Xenos Inquisitor Amberley Vail with whom Cain had many encounters over his career, and shared a close working and personal relationship. It is worth noting, as Inquisitor Vail does in footnotes throughout his memoirs, that Cain was a skilled liar and dissembler, and therefore anything to which he refers that is not independently documented could well be a fabrication to maintain his reputation.Support the show

In this episode, Bricky and DK dive into the irradiated, heavily augmented world of the Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii. From their origins as nomadic scavengers on the toxic dunes of Mars during the Age of Strife to becoming the unquestioning, cyborg foot soldiers of the Machine God, we cover exactly what goes into the Mechanicum's relentless forces.
Discover the brutal process of the Corpus Skitarii, including the mandatory removal of eyelids & legs, and explore the massive variety of troops deployed by the Forge Worlds. We discuss Vanguard Rad-Troopers who dissolve their own armor with radiation, Sicarian Ruststalkers moving at blinding speeds as commandos, Pteraxii taking to the skies, and the Serberys Corps riding mechanical dogs into battle. Plus, a look at the highly questionable "Project Kataphron" and what standard Imperial Guardsmen actually think of their AdMech counterparts.Support the show

The Black Templars thought they were showing up to the feudal world of Gabal to burn away the "urc" filth and bring the planet back into the Imperial fold. They definitely weren't expecting to run straight into the Beast of Armageddon himself. This week on Adeptus Ridiculous, Bricky, DK and Kirioth dive into the absolute madness of Denny Flowers' Ghazghkull Thraka: Warlord of Warlords. We are talking maximum Orky goodness: the Blood Axes setting wildly elaborate mountain-crushing traps, Grotsnik performing completely unhinged mid-battle surgery, Glinteef Goldakka's fabled "Mega Smasha" titan-killer WarKopta and Ghazghkull going toe-to-toe with Black Templar Marshal Adenauer.Support the show

In this episode, Bricky, DK, and Kirioth dive into the Severan Dominate, a rare example of a faction actually managing to secede from the Imperium of Man. On paper, seceding is as easy as just quitting, but the real difficulty is keeping the secession going. Led by the "pious" Duke Severus XIII, this splinter faction has held itself together in a dangerous area of space. Believing the Periphery sub-sector was his by right, the Duke orchestrated fake supply shortages to force his citizens into desperate rebellion.
To maintain his grip, the Duke formed dark pacts with a desperate Drukhari kabal known as the Children of Thorns. Throw in an unexpected Ork invasion from Waaagh! Grimtoof, and you have the recipe for the only definitively successful secessionist group in 40K history.Support the show

The Iron Warriors are expanding their borders, and they absolutely do not care who they have to bulldoze to do it! This week, Bricky, DK, and Kirioth dive into the "Reign of Iron" lore supplement. With the Eye of Terror massively expanded after the fall of Cadia, Perturabo has set his sights on building the "Infinite Citadel" and claiming the highly-valuable Forge World of Agripinaa. But to get there, Warsmith Kravek Morne has to do some serious house cleaning. Listen in as the boys break down the Iron Warriors sneaking up on the Black Legion "Grave Robbers" who were looting Cadia, leading to the brutal execution of Lord Iordax Quan. From there, it's an all-out meat grinder on Toros Tertium against Ursula Creed and the Cadian 8th. And just when you think the Iron Warriors have it in the bag, Darnath Lysander and the Imperial Fists arrive to crash the party—mostly because they just really, really hate Perturabo's sons. Oh, and Eldrad shows up at the end.Support the show

In this episode, Kirioth takes the wheel to teach Bricky and DK all about the Supreme Commander of the T'au Empire: O'Shaserra, better known as Shadowsun! From her early days training under the legendary Commander Puretide alongside her bonded rival, Farsight, to earning her famous moniker by assassinating Ork leaders under an artificial eclipse, Shadowsun is an absolute tactical powerhouse. We're diving deep into her mastery of the Kauyon (Patient Hunter) warfare doctrine, her brutal campaigns across the spheres of expansion, and that time she completely humiliated the Imperium by cutting Raven Guard Chapter Master Corvin Severax in half. Plus, things get seriously weird when the T'au's Fourth Sphere Expansion gets swallowed by the Warp and encounters a terrifying, multi-armed Warp Goddess of the Greater Good.Support the show

Few names muster up imagery of power and dedication to the Imperium like Commissar Sebastian Yarrick. Known as the Hero of Hades Hive, he is a man so dedicated to the Emperor’s light that even the Orks think he’s a literal demon. In today’s episode, we’re diving into the full, unredacted (mostly) life of the man, the myth, and the bionic eye. From his brutal upbringing on Taos 3 to his legendary rivalry with Ghazghkull Thraka, we cover why Yarrick is the ultimate "too angry to die" protagonist of the 41st Millennium.
In this episode, we discuss:
The Vaarden Origins: How a wealthy kid named Sebastian Vaarden became the gritty survivor known as Yarrick.
Grandpa’s "Spartan" Training: Why Yarrick’s childhood was basically a survival horror game.
The Klaw: The story of how he lost an arm to Warboss Ugulhard and decided to just... take the Warboss's arm as a replacement.
The Bale Eye: Why he got a laser eye specifically to play into Ork superstitions.
The Best Frenemy: That time Ghazghkull threw Yarrick a "celebratory parade" and spoke to him in High Gothic.
The Propaganda Version: We wrap up with the "Authorized Biography" from the Regimental Standard—where Yarrick allegedly did the sign of the Aquila instead of crying at birth.Support the show

We are diving deep into the 10th Edition campaign book, "The Maelstrom: Lair of the Tyrant," which is packed with 76 pages of pure worldbuilding. In this episode, we cover:
- The Maelstrom Zone: A massive galactic Warp incursion second only in size to the Eye of Terror.
- Huron Blackheart: The former Chapter Master of the Astral Claws, who is now the supreme pirate king and Master of the Red Corsairs.
- Pirate Empires: How Huron operates out of New Badab and Corsair's Keep, a Blackstone Fortress gifted to him by Abaddon the Despoiler.
- The Aeldari Threat: Prince Yriel leading the Eldritch Raiders into the storm and the lore behind the Raid on the Crimson Eyrie.
- Maelstrom Locals: Everything from Ork Freebootas and Night Lords to terrifying daemon worlds like Fleshmyre, which devours visitors with continents of quivering flesh.Support the show

https://shop.orchideight.com/collections/adeptus-ridiculousToday on Detective Ridiculous, Bricky and DK dive into the single-greatest art heist in history. It’s a $500 million mystery that remains unsolved to this day. In the early hours of St. Patrick's Day in 1990, two men dressed as Boston police officers talked their way into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. What followed was 81 minutes of pure, unadulterated chaos. The thieves tied the two night watchmen up in the basement—one of whom was on LSD. Despite having all the time in the world, the thieves bizarrely passed up priceless masterpieces by Raphael and Michelangelo. Instead, they haphazardly sliced 13 random paintings out of their frames, rolled them up, and vanished into the night never to be found.

In the grand finale of the Dark Imperium trilogy, Roboute Guilliman is having a spectacularly bad time. Not only is he forced into a miserable reunion with his stinky brother Mortarion, but he’s also dodging fanatic priests and dealing with Ku'Gath's ultimate weapon: the Godblight.
Things get so bad that Guilliman actually dies, only to have a lovely chat with the Emperor, who kindly reminds him that he is nothing more than a tool, a number, and a weapon. Truly, the "#1 Dad" of the 41st Millennium.Support the show

09:45 The Episode
Guilliman is back, but the Imperium is a mess, and his Ultra-Depression is kicking in full force. In this episode, we kick off our three-part series on the Dark Imperium books, diving into the massive conflict that brings the Avenging Son face-to-face with his brother Mortarion: The Plague Wars.
Ultramar is struggling under the weight of Chaos rot, and Mortarion is aiming to choke the realm with disease. We explore the tragic and horrific transformation of the hospital world of Iax into a literal breeding ground for Nurgle's decay, and see how Guilliman plans to hold his territory together by reforming the Tetrarchy to make the 500 Worlds stronger.
Plus, we break down Guilliman's confusing new reality in M41. From dealing with the fanatical Ecclesiarchy and his new Militant-Apostolic Mathieu, to navigating a deadly Legends of the Hidden Temple style obstacle course just to talk to a 100% definitely-not-sentient VTuber version of Belisarius Cawl.Support the show

Today, Bricky and DK are diving headfirst into the new narrative campaign, "500 Worlds: Titus". The events of Space Marine II are in the rearview mirror, and our boy Demetrian Titus has officially secured the bag: getting promoted to Captain and Master of the Watch. Bobby G has tasked him with an incredibly ambitious (and maybe impossible) goal: reclaiming the lost 500 Worlds of Ultramar.
Titus heads out to the Vespator Front to secure a spooky planet called Novamagnor, a world so cursed that even Hive Fleet Leviathan actively avoided it. What Titus thought would be a "poggers" little speedrun to drop a vortex bomb in a sleeping Necron tomb immediately goes completely off the rails. We're talking Hexmark Destroyer ambushes, a literal Necron civil war spilling onto the surface, and the arrival of Nekrosor Ammenthar, the horrifying Patient Zero for the Destroyer Curse.
To make matters worse, Titus has to deal with Archmagos Wytbor Oct, a massive C'tan cultist who literally holds the door open for the Necrons because he wants to free a Nightbringer Shard from a massive Tesseract Vault. It's a pyrrhic victory of epic proportions, capped off by The Rock pulling up to the outskirts of Ultramar with a cryptic text message that simply reads: "Brother. We need to talk".Support the show

The Great Noble Houses: House Ty and their psychic spies, the decadent House Ulanti (who literally blow up pandas for fun), and the mysterious House Catallus that brings a literal murder carnival to the hive.
The Clan Houses: GigaChads of House Goliath, the pharmaceutical queens of House Escher, and the irradiated tech-wizards of House Van Saar who are slowly being killed by their own STC.

Welcome to the first part of our deep dive into the absolute industrial nightmare that is Necromunda. Often cited as the "textbook example" of a Hive World, Necromunda is a planet where the history is as blood-soaked as its geography is treacherous.
In this episode, Bricky, Kirioth, and DK explore the planet’s early days as the "Araneus Continuity," its brutal "liberation" by the Imperial Fists, and the sheer audacity of a population so large it makes modern Earth look like a deserted island. From oceans of toxic sludge to the shifting, microplastic dunes of the Ash Wastes, we’re breaking down why this world is a complete setting in itself.Support the show

Join us as we discuss how the Iron Warriors accidentally created one of the most vengeful Guard regiments in the galaxy, the absolute insanity of the largest tank battle in human history, and why these guys are riding around on "goofy aaah" alien camels called Mukaali.
