”Reading is probably what leads most writers to writing.” Richard Ford, Author I’m a writing coach, workshop host, film and publishing marketer, and storyteller. With this podcast, I aim to get you past that figurative hurdle and back on your narrative path. In each episode, I’ll read selected story passages aloud and analyse these as a writer; inviting you to do the same with prompts and exercises to try for yourself at home. You might want to learn more about #creative writing, you might be writing your own story and need some inspiration, or you simply enjoy listening to stories being read aloud. Whatever the reason you’re here today, let’s get your story en route to completion. You can find me on social media @awriterslighthouse or through my website at awriterslighthouse.com.

This podcast is for all types of wine lovers. It features informal conversations with wine makers, wine bar owners, importers, sommeliers; you name it. Hosted by a former radio journalist turned wine nerd, who has been blogging at State of the Vine for the last few years. Lauren has her WSET Level 2 certification, but the most important thing is she's curious and loves to make wine fun for people to learn about, while learning herself! Grab a glass of your favorite wine and join her to learn about wine and interesting stories surrounding wine. Cheers!

Joined each episode by special guests, British Asian authors, Vaseem Khan and Abir Mukherjee take a wry look at the world of books, writing, and the creative arts, tackling everything from bestsellers to pop culture and Big Fat Asian Weddings. Insightful, funny, packed with stellar interviews – Dean Koontz, Val McDermid, Ann Cleeves, Mike Gayle, to name a few – and the odd dose of cross-cultural confusion, they dare to explore the parts other podcasts cannot reach. Tragedy has been around for over 2500 years, from its earliest manifestations in the huge open-air gathering-places of Athens and other Greek city-states, to the theatres of Renaissance England, Spain and France, right through to the twentieth century with its cinematic tragedies, and the disturbing works of Harold Pinter and Samuel Beckett. In four dialogues, Oliver Taplin, Emeritus Professor, and Joshua Billings, a graduate student in the Oxford Classics Faculty, ask and discuss what tragedy is, what tragedy does for people, whether tragedy teaches, and if tragedy is still alive today.
