The following is a brief response to a recent letter from a prominent disciple of Srila Prabhupada, which claims that in his book Inherent or Inherited?, Swami Padmanabha stated:
"Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati, and Srila Prabhupada all taught apasiddhanta."
Considering the weight of this statement and the potential for confusion or concern among those who may take it at face value without reading the book or reaching out to Swami for clarification, he felt it necessary to offer this short explanation.

RADICAL PERSONALISM: Revival Manifesto for Proactive Devotion.

This foundational class kicks off a 6-part journey designed to help us rediscover and renew our relationship with Krishna in a deeply personal and meaningful way. Together, we’ll explore how our unique individuality shapes this connection, inviting us to ask essential questions from wherever we are on our spiritual path: "Who is Krishna for me… here, now, today?" Is Krishna a theological concept, a religious figure, the most real of persons, or perhaps a projection rooted in past experiences? We’ll confront and transcend these projections—whether they arise from childhood trauma, social narratives, or inherited beliefs—to seek an authentic encounter with Krishna as he truly is, in all his fullness, in every moment. Join us as we open ourselves to experiencing Krishna beyond our conditioned perspectives, aiming for a deeper, more authentic relationship.

0:00 Introduction: sadhu sanga, a gathering for Istagosthi, is rooted in the highest reach
10:00 How can we understand “our guru stands before us as our greatest potential” so that we do not think that reality as a mere copy/paste, as if I am meant to become them as opposed to being myself?
22:20 It seems like everyone is, in a sense, simultaneously a guru and a disciple, even “outside” of bhakti. Do you agree?
36:36 Reflection on the “momma duck and duckling example” in regard to raising individuated children and that extension to guru/disciple relationship
43:35 Regarding saving the life of Sri Radha-Krishna on a daily basis in lila, I had never thought of developing a relationship with Them as a couple and serving that relationship. I conceived that my relationship would be directly with Krishna. Thinking of serving Them as a couple rather than directly, seems more natural.
55:35 Reflection on how we are guru as in each interaction with everyone, we have the opportunity to teach them that they are lovable or not.
56:58 Giving and receiving in the “ordinary” moments
1:10:44 Do we over-idealized and over-emphasized the “moment of death”?
1:22:18 Regarding God being mystery not just to us, but also to himself. How do we harmonize that with Bhagavad-gita saying that God knows the past, present and future?Watch on YouTube https://youtu.be/f8H5GhIx_a0

In this discussion, we explore the guru-disciple relationship both as a universal principle (guru is everywhere) as well as the localized agent—the guru as a servant of the disciple's faith and potential. The guru acts as a facilitator of the disciple's journey, accompanying them and listening with them to what Krishna wishes to reveal.
We also reflect on the dangers of over-expectation and over-idealization, not just from disciple to guru, but also from guru to disciple. Over-idealizing leads to dehumanization, where we either elevate or diminish someone beyond who they truly are, limiting their potential to fully express themselves.
Additionally, we examine how surrender, when misunderstood, can sometimes become a way of avoiding personal responsibility. Through practical examples and exercises, we dive deep into these dynamics of spiritual relationship between disciple and guru.

1:03:15 Reflection on the ongoingness of Sri Nama and japa.

RADICAL PERSONALISM: Revival Manifesto for Proactive Devotion.

The Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, one of the core scriptures for Vaiṣṇavas, describes reality as a manifestation of non-dual consciousness. While non-duality recognizes the oneness of all existence, it encompasses the personal aspect of the Divine as well.vadanti tat tattva-vidas
tattvaṁ yaj jñānam advayam
brahmeti paramātmeti
bhagavān iti śabdyate"Learned transcendentalists, who know the Absolute Truth, describe this non-dual reality as Brahman, Paramātmā, or Bhagavān."
There is often a misunderstanding that non-duality is synonymous with impersonalism. In an effort to avoid being "impersonal," we can inadvertently become dualists, dividing and fragmenting God and reality—even to the extent of approaching polytheism. Yet, reality—God—is inherently one. This understanding paves the way for genuine interfaith exchange and cross-pollination, where we can learn from other traditions and bring those insights back to enrich and nourish our own spiritual path.
Tune in as Swami Padmanabha explores nonduality as interconnectedness, as everything sharing a common center in relationality. In other words, everything has a potential for bondedness, and when we miss this potential, that is known as sin—or missing the mark.

Radical Personalism is synonymous with being as personal as we can be. This refers not only to the fact that behind every aspect of existence there is ultimately a personalized expression, or to being as personal as we can in our relationships, or to attaining our ultimate spiritual identity in eternity. While all these aspects of Radical Personalism are certainly true and a crucial part of this equation, in the stage where most of us find ourselves there will be another facet of Radical Personalism, probably the most important to embrace as current practitioners. That is the facet of carving out our full humanity in a way that fosters a unique and divine sense of being, which we’ll call sacred transhumanism.

0:00 Introduction
3:36 In a group setting, does our capacity to be vulnerable effect other group member’s ability to express vulnerability? How can we develop our vulnerability?
17:12 It is easy to be vulnerable while at home with one’s deity, but it’s pretty scary to be vulnerable when you step outside. How can we balance our need for safety with our need for vulnerability?
33:46 Reflection on the relationship between authenticity and vulnerability in satsanga. And how without these two qualities of being is asatsanga.
39:37 Reflection on how devotional service is transformational and not just a matter of doing the correct things in a “text book” fashion.
46:16 Reflection on our capacity to be vulnerable as well as to receive others in their vulnerability.
52:11 Relationship between vulnerability and creativity.
55:31 Relationship between vulnerability and humility. Although they are the same thing, humility can be weaponized, and become nothing more than exploitation of someone’s vulnerability.
1:05:25 How can we discern whether or not our experience is real or if it is “speculation” or “nonsense”? Can we trust ourselves or do we always have to rely an authority outside of ourselves?
1:18:07 Why is liminality painful?
1:22:24 Is the inner authority Caitya guru or intuition?

22:56 Does Nityananda ever relate to Mahaprabhu as Ananga manjari?
32:12 Reflection about nonduality and how both nonduality and difference are necessary
46:25 Regardless of the amount of endeavor I make in my sadhana, I am still not seeing any results. I find this frustrating and disappointed. Where there is light, there is shadow—and the guru-disciple relationship is no exception. Shadows can arise on either side, whether with the guru, the disciple, or both. The real question is how we acknowledge and integrate these human imperfections in a way that fosters growth rather than avoidance.
Join the conversation as we explore profound questions: What does it truly mean to be a guru? What does it mean to be a disciple? How does their relationship evolve, and what happens when the guru is idealized beyond reason? What is the highest, most beautiful potential of this sacred connection?

0:00 Introduction
5:39 Where did we get the information that Radha’s month preceeds Krishna’s month. And what is the signficance
21:46 What is the right mindset when we experience something that could be considered neglect from a guru?
37:43 Regarding being more tolerant than a tree and humbler that a blade of grass, how are we meant to apply this? Is there a limit so that it remains healthy?
57.36 Verse 12 of Isopanisad states: Those who are engaged in the worship of demigods enter into the darkest region of ignorance, and still more so do the worshipers of the impersonal Absolute. This seems to contradict Krishna’s nature to reciprocate as people approach him. So how to understand this? .
1:13:43 Regarding offenses, compassion and forgiveness—if offenses are being committed by a person who has mental health issues, should there be unlimited compassion or are there proper boundaries to draw? And if so, how to determine them?
