In this episode, we talk with Mario Rivera (Left Unsaid, Nights Like Thieves, Ikana) about creating and releasing a documentary about the rise and fall of Albuquerque, NM local heroes Left Unsaid. Plus, getting back together, releasing new music, starting over after being in a successful band, being at the threshold of mainstream success, video production as day job, and the impact of nostalgia.
The documentary was made over three and a half years, beginning in 2020 when Mario was inspired by reviewing old footage of Left Unsaid. "I hope viewers are inspired to pursue their dreams of being in a band, embracing the journey with all its excitement, fear, and inspiration. Experiencing what we felt, I want them to appreciate the dedication and effort involved, and to support their local music scene," says Mario. "It would be awesome if promoters in other cities also recognize the value of giving smaller bands opportunities to open for larger acts, fostering a stronger community and helping them build their following."
