My dog knows basic commands and is super food motivated, but he's a flight risk and a jumper. He jumps a lot when we have guests over. I would love it if we could get him to stop jumping on everybody and listen. Any suggestions?

Any advice for separation anxiety? My one-year-old cannot let me out of her sight, makes a fuss if left, and goes over the top on our return.

How do I get my dog to let me cut her nails? What I'm doing is telling her down in front of me, giving her a treat. Then I say, paw when and when she lets me hold it without squirming, nibbling, et cetera. I give her a treat. I also pick up the clippers and say clippy and allow it to graze her nails. She won't allow that either.

Does leaving a 10-week-old puppy in a crate at night help with toileting? I woken up this morning and it was a bit of a mess. Tonight I'm leaving her asleep with my other dog with the door open.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get a dog comfortable with booties? I would like to go walking this summer, but I tried to put socks on him one time and he was not a happy boy. Any help is appreciated.

I have a 10-month-old border Collie and keeping her busy inside is so hard. She's a very aggressive chewer and has torn up every toy. I've gotten her. I'm afraid to give her something too hard. I don't want her breaking any teeth chewing. Does anyone have any recommendations? I use lick mats also, but those only last 20, or 30 minutes.

Looking for recommendations for a high-value treat for training. Currently has chicken, but is becoming bored of it and not as obedient on walks.

I adopted my dog in February, and recently I've been allowing her to stay in bed, but I'm not sure if I'm making a mistake. Pros and cons?

I am thinking of adopting an 11 month old German Shepherd. He's not leash trained, but does know a few commands. He's strong and I don't have a clue how to begin leash training. He's in a shelter and only has another week. I want him, but I need help with leash training.

Only had the new puppy for less than a week, and I am exhausted. She's five months old and as sweet as can be, but needs to potty about every 30 minutes. Going to a vet for a checkup in the morning. I know it's a long process, but I need to know there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Question about potty training. I often see advice from trainers to take the puppy to the same spot outside. But won't this teach them to go to only in that one spot? I understand that having a dedicated spot is very convenient, especially in bad weather when business needs to be done quickly.I'd like for the puppy to be able to potty outside in general, on walks, and not hold everything in until he gets the dedicated spot. Thank you in advance for your input.

New puppy mom as of a few weeks ago and saying that it's been hard is an understatement. I understand the concept of praising good behavior when it happens, and we're getting better at it.

Any tips on how to get my puppy to not bite the pee pad when she's in the crate/playpen with it? She's making good progress with crate training.

I'm debating whether to get my dog a snuffle mat or a food puzzle for when I go out. My dog figured out a puzzle toy way too quickly, and I'm concerned about leaving her with the smaller pieces. Though she only mouths things, doesn't chew them.

I've got two males who I just got this weekend, and we are working on their transition. The biggest question is trying to get them on my family schedule. Before it was like a 24/7 buffet. Now I'm feeding them three times a day and they don't finish their food. Any recommendations? Should I leave it out for 30 minutes and then take it away until the next feeding? I kennel them for the night minus a bathroom break or two and a little during the day if nobody's home. I didn't want to leave food in the kennel I'm trying to keep them cleaner. I'm avoiding most human food until they are on a schedule.
