Broadcasting from a hundred-and-fifty-year-old wooden house in Kumagawa-juku, deep in the mountains of Wakasa, Japan.
The owner of the jazz kissa "THEE COFFEE" closes the shop, brews a single cup, and sits down in front of the speakers. The music plays, and over it he talks, slowly, about coffee, about beans, about the people who came by, and about the questions that don't have answers.
This is a show in no hurry. Like a dark-roast Mandheling — bitter, heavy, and lingering. For the late hours, when sleep won't come.
黒くて長い。若狭の山あい、熊川宿の築百五十年の母屋から流れる、夜の電波。
ジャズ喫茶「THEE COFFEE」の店主が、閉店後の誰もいない時間に、一杯淹れて、スピーカーの前に座る。音を鳴らしながら、コーヒーのこと、豆のこと、店に来た人のこと、それから答えの出ない問いのことを、ぽつぽつと話します。
急がない番組です。深い焙煎のマンデリンのように、苦くて、重くて、後から残る。眠れない夜の、遅い時間にどうぞ。
