Kuulates saad teada:
Mis on Hakomi teraapia?Millist infot saab oskuslik terapeut välja lugeda meie kehakeelest?Millal ja kelle jaoks võivad kehapõhised lähenemised olla abiks – ning millal võib sekkumine kahju teha?Mida tähendab “ülevalt alla” ja “alt üles” teraapia?Milline väljaõpe garanteerib, et inimene saab teraapiast abi?Miks on terapeutiline suhe ise sageli kõige olulisem „meetod” ning kuidas võib terapeudi kohalolu muutust toetada?Kombineerida või mitte kombineerida? Millal loob teraapiate kombineerimine sügavust ning millal tekitab segadust?Millist abi võib alternatiivteraapia pakkuda, mida tõenduspõhised praktikad ei paku? Milline roll võiks alternatiivteraapiatel ideaalmaailmas olla?Signe Noppel on kutsega psühholoog, kellel on üle 20 aasta kogemust.
Vestlust juhib Marta Pulk.

In this episode, Dr. David Puder is joined by psychiatrist Dr. Eric Bender to explore the psychological depth of the Emmy Award-winning show, The Bear (FX). Through a psychodynamic lens, they examine Carmy's character—his trauma, complex PTSD, obsessive-compulsive personality traits, and avoidant attachment style. They also break down the borderline dynamics in his family, especially his mother's primitive defenses, identity diffusion, and projective identification.
The discussion covers dissociation, personality styles, sibling roles, and emotional neglect, drawing connections to clinical work and real-life therapy. This episode gives both clinicians and fans of the show a nuanced understanding of how early attachment, trauma, and family dynamics shape adult behavior.
Whether you're a therapist, student, or simply a fan of the show, you'll gain insight into how The Bear reflects complex inner worlds.

Could we be misunderstanding eating disorders for some patients? Research suggests that more than 30 percent of inpatients being treated for an eating disorder are also autistic. Claudia Hamond talks to Professor Kate Tchanturia from Kings College London, and Fiona Hollings, expert by experience, who helped develop a new approach to treating eating disorders in people with autism.
What are your strongest memories from your teenage years? For good and bad Dr Lucy Foulkes, from Oxford University, argues that our adolescence shapes us. She talks to Claudia about taking teenage love more seriously, having empathy for risk-taking teens, and how to look back on your adolescence more fondly.
And Professor Daryl O’Connor, from the University of Leeds, discusses new research which shows that focussing on positive memories can help people who have previously been depressed feel happier. He and Claudia discuss how this might be useful if you feel your mood start to drop.

In this episode of PsychCrunch, Tabby Taylor Buck delves into the world of unconventional therapeutic activities, guided by the latest psychological research and insights from practitioners in the field. She explores how innovative approaches are reshaping what therapy can look and feel like.
Tabby begins with a spot of climbing therapy, and then turns to the imaginative world of structured roleplay, as Dr. Sören Henrich discusses the therapeutic potential of Dungeons & Dragons. Next, Professor Jo Williams offers insight into animal-assisted interventions, shedding light on the psychological mechanisms that underpin them. Finally, the conversation plunges into cold water. Professors Mark Wetherell and Mike Tipton discuss the psychological and physiological impact of cold water swimming, exploring how cold water immersion may help with stress adaptation and improve mood.
Throughout the episode, Tabby and her guests explore a central question: Are these diverse interventions tapping into unique mechanisms, or are they all accessing shared core ingredients that promote psychological wellbeing?
