The battle has begun! Percy and Annabeth wake up some statues. Percy is having a Hot Boy Summer. He also has his first flirt. Erin’s boyfriend the Minotaur makes a return, and he’s gotten a look upgrade (another trip to Claire’s?). Annabeth takes a knife for Percy, which leads to the hurt/comfort situation of our dreams. We finally learn about Nico’s mom, and it makes us sad and also angry.
-
This week, we finally learn about Nico’s plan to help Percy fight Luke - but not without a nice betrayal from Nico! Percy takes a dip in the River Styx, and one of THE most romantic paragraphs happens. All the campers are preparing for battle, and surprise surprise, the gods aren’t going to be any help. Will they make it? Will they defeat Luke? The stakes are high!
-
The angst is these chapters is…*chef’s kiss.* Percy and Annabeth have some intense moments. Percy, ultimate lover boy, brings up Annabeth’s dad when he’s uncomfortable. Then, Nico and Percy team up to journey into Luke’s past and learn about his family. May Castellan is the ultimate tragedy of this series and we get very sad about her. Also, Sally Jackson writes steamy romance novels. Follow us on social @camphalfpod!

Annnnnd we begin the final book of the Last Olympian! We start off strong with Percy making a promise that Beckendorf will live, and we all know how well Percy’s promises turn out. Percy sees Luke/Kronos again, and he has a charm bracelet. Percy goes down into Poseidon’s palace and meets Dad’s other family. Then, when Percy returns to camp, he finally gets to hear the Big Prophecy…
-
That’s right, somehow, we’re at the end of this book. Grover becomes an organizer, we discuss the difference between a forest and a wood, and we have a lot of feelings for Annabeth. Also, we all want to propose to Sally Jackson. Truly, how is Paul the first one since Gabe? Join us as we finish out this incredible book and get ready to start the final one of this series!
-
In which we reach the climax of the book, and Erin has a lots of thoughts on Jeff Bezos. This episode, Luke and Kronos become one, they find Pan (and he promptly dies), and the namesake of this book finally happens - the battle of the labyrinth! Or rather, the battle near the labyrinth. Buckle up, folks, we got a lot to discuss. Follow us on social @camphalfpod!

Percy faces the most terrifying monster yet - a jealous Annabeth. Percy returns to Camp Half-Blood and acquires a new mortal guide. Erin’s favorite line in the whole series occurs. Percy has to fight a half-brother in a giant arena. The gang meets Daedalus and he’s…disappointing, to say the least. Follow us on social and be sure to rate and review! @camphalfpod

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. THE KISSSSSSS!!! Also other stuff happens but… THE KISS. We talk about the proper attire for grieving, Telkhines (aka Manasa’s seadogs), now or never kisses, and cottage-core Calypso. It’s a long one, and we’re here for it. Gjest er biolog Even Sletteng Garvang.

Foto: AP Photo/Petros Giannakouris.

This week we’re deep, deep in the labyrinth for chapters 7-9. We meet some weird creatures at Alcatraz, go to the strangest ranch ever, and mostly importantly…. Percy scoops poop. Percy uses the stupidest Rock Paper Scissors maneuver ever. Manasa learns what a scimitar is. We mispronounce a lot of Greek monsters. It’s fun. Follow us on social @camphalfpod!
-
The moment we’ve all been waiting for - Nico goes goth. Annabeth gets a prophecy, Percy has too much Main Character Energy, and Nico is an icon. They begin their quest and immediately get lost. Erin and Manasa spend a lot of time discussing Hera and portrayals of female villains. Be sure to follow us on social @camphalfpod!

It’s here - the final episode for Titan’s Curse! We talk the last two chapters of the book, get to see an Olympian party, some great Percabeth moments, and the beginnings of edge-lord Nico. Artemis is the only b!tch in this house we respect. Also, we’re still mad that Bianca didn’t get a proper funeral. Follow us on social @camphalfpod, and tune in next week for a bonus episode in which we answer all your Lightning Bolt questions!

These few chapters are heavy hitters. Get ready to dive into the climax of this book, chalked full of monsters, metaphors, and grief. We finally meet our favorite dragon, Landon. Zoe confronts her dad, Artemis fights Atlas, we reunite with Annabeth, and Percy holds up the sky. We say goodbye to a complex and incredible character, we get emotional, and we possibly use this podcast as a miniature therapy session.
CW: Mentions of suicide, grief, and cancer from 54:00-01:01:00
Highly recommend the essay Erin references, especially if you're feeling like lately, you've been holding up the sky. "The Sycamore Tree" by John Green. You can listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zbQ--rpa04
