  • "Empowering Change: Women and Girls in STEM" is a podcast series developed by The National Girls Collaborative Project.

Women continue to be underrepresented in the STEM workforce specifically in engineering and computer science disciplines. Gender gaps in education pathways persist which limit access and preparation for career opportunities. The impacts of the intersectional inequalities of gender, race, ethnicity, and class can also hinder identification with and long-term participation in STEM for women and girls. The National Girls Collaborative Project developed a special podcast series which aims to shed light on the challenges faced by women and girls in STEM fields and explore actionable steps to foster gender equality and inclusivity.

Join host Nancy Scales-Coddington, Director of Strategic Partnerships for NGCP, for thought-provoking discussions, expert insights, and inspiring stories. We shed light on the challenges faced by women and girls in STEM fields and how we can change that narrative.

Join us as we break stereotypes, amplify perspectives, and explore actionable strategies for fostering gender equality and inclusivity. Become an advocate for change, creating a brighter, more inclusive future for all in the STEM community.

Here's the show: Scott tells us about a crazy sci-fi story he's seen recently, and Steven tells us how scientifically possible it is. Then Steven tells us an interesting science fact, and Scott has to write a sci-fi story or superpower based on it. We don't know what each other will bring to the show so our responses are totally improvised!

Two Wisconsin programs provide a statewide and multidisciplinary approach to supporting livelihoods and enhancing lifestyles through the research of, education about and outreach focused on those waters. These programs are the University of Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute and the University of Wisconsin Water Resources Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
