In this episode of Radio Safa, we sit down with the incredibly unique Sage Snider — a lawyer, violinist/fiddler, storyteller, and performer whose artistic world blends bluegrass, Celtic, country, pirate, and folk influences into something truly original.

Sage shares the fascinating story of how she transitioned from a classically trained violinist into a bluegrass and storytelling musician, and how one workshop completely changed the direction of her artistic journey.

One of the most powerful moments comes when she says:

“I just practiced, practiced, practiced… but that is not how you get good in bluegrass. I had to go to the porch and listen to people talking, because that is part of the culture.”

This episode also features a spontaneous off-the-cuff bluegrass performance between Sage and Radio Safa founder and host, Dr. Safa Amiri — with no prior rehearsal.

A thoughtful conversation about music, culture, improvisation, artistic identity, and finding your own voice as an artist.

In today’s Artist Spotlight, we sit down with Mike Dowd — known artistically as Intellect — an independent hip-hop artist celebrated for sharp lyricism, cinematic storytelling, and music built with purpose and longevity. Alongside him is Breonna Sharde’, a soulful vocalist and songwriter whose sound blends soul and jazz with intention, truth, and joy.

In this conversation: Intellect’s approach to crafting records that create moments instead of chasing them, the story and emotion behind tracks like “Too Many Losses” (feat. Dave East), and what keeps his music grounded in authenticity. Breonna shares the heart behind her artistry, the meaning of “Golden Hour” (released October 2025), and a preview into her upcoming debut 8-track EP arriving mid-2026—woven with themes of freedom, clarity, and divine alignment.

Why Radio Safa? Our mission is to honor artists and connect talent with real opportunities—spotlighting the voices, stories, and creative journeys that move us.
