You ain't never had a friend like Will Smith, for it is he who will prove, once and for all, that he is a fun, talented, and normal guy, in that order. This week, unlocked from the Patreon vault, Disney's 2019 live-acrion Aladdin remake, which hauled in an astonishing, life-deffirming $1 billion at the box office.

The Mandalorian? Grogu? Rotta the Hutt, who no matter what you've heard is his own man? All these and more will NOT be discussed on the latest Now We Know Patreon unlock: it's 1995's Star Wars Essential Guide to Characters, written by Andy Mangels. Reunite with the whole crew! Bollux! Blue Max! Davin Felth! Figrin Dan and his Figrin Band! And, of course, Ponda Baba and Dr. Evazan.

This week, with the first Star Wars feature film in years set to hit theaters (the Baby Yoda movie), we unlock from the depths of the Patreon vault... EWOKS: THE BATTLE FOR ENDOR, the 1985 made-for-TV movie starring Warrick Davis as Wicket the Ewok, Wilford Brimley as Noa, Aubree Miller as Cindel, and Carl Struychen (best known as the Giant from Twin Peaks) as King Terak.

Your latest gem from the Now We Know vault — the horrifying Unfrosted, Jerry Seinfeld's return to the world of feature films. There's a surprising number of cameos by actually talented people in this (including the the always-marvelous Andy Daly as the Quaker Oats guy), yet virtually nothing can overcome Seinfeld's unique, and unfortunate, sense of what's funny.

More like HOOP, there it is! On the precipe of his elimination from the 2026 NBA playoffs, at the hands of the similarly odious Oklahoma City Thunder, our latest unlock from the Patreon vault: it's Space Jam: A New Legacy, the confused semi-hagiography of LeBron James. Primarily addressing his struggles to be a good father (not to the real LeSperms, Bronny or Bryce, but a false, Hollywood-invented LeSperm named Dom), it's impossible to overstate how little this movie cares about the Looney Tunes. If you like the Tunes, this movie isn't for you!

Open sesame, you say, standing at the hunk of solid rock you presume covers the way into the Now We Know vault - or maybe the Now We Know mine?
Your Patreon unlock for this week: 2025's "live" "action" Snow White "remake," featuring such characters as the titular White, her auto-tuned plasticine boyfriend, the "dwarves," and an evil queen who sounds an awful lot like she's got enough champagne to fill the Nile. Really touching how they handled Dopey in this one.

Your latest unlock from the annals of the Now We Know Patreon...
To hell with The Money Pit! No, we Are Not Done Yet! Forget these modern iterations — it's Cary Grant and Myrna Loy who pioneered the disastrous home improvement form with Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House. Originally released in 1948, making this one of if not the oldest feature film we've covered, this light comedy about the perils of falling in love with the dream home in your head made for a refreshing palate cleanse.

The show must go on. Brooke runs a limited hangout on Trevor with an artificial insemination fib, Jeremy can't seal the deal, Sarah doesn't want to sign David's pile of papers, and Palmer trusts Opal with some big business — but does he even remember doing so?

Your latest bit of precious ore from the Now We Know Patreon mines — it's our dive into Roger Corman's never-released 1994 Fantastic Four movie, which, depending on who you ask, was created as an exercise in rights management with no intention of every seeing the light of day (although they certainly didn't tell the cast or crew that). Would this have been the first great Marvel movie if the cruel forces of capital hadn't intervened? No!

Your latest unearthed treasure, from the whispering catacombs of the Now We Know Patreon. It's Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the 2023 flick which... was pretty fun! Between this and the smash hit video game Baldur's Gate 3 from the same year, Dungeons and Dragons media has been on a bit of a hot streak lately. Although for the movie, that's solely in the "huh that's pretty good!" department; the box office returns, in a world where THE LION KING (2018) made 1.6 BILLION DOLLARS!!!!!?!?!?!, were underwhelming.
-
Your latest offering, from the depths of the Now We Know vault: our "dive" (heh heh) into 2023's The Little Mermaid, the live* action** remake*** of the Disney animated classic. Featuring some new original songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda, and the voice acting talents of the lovely miss Awkwafina!!!! Sounds fun right??????????

Originally recorded in April of 2023, your latest unearthed prize from the Now We Know vault is our dive into the first (modern era) Mario movie, with the sequel set to hit theaters next month. And, oddly enough, both the beginning and climax of this one are very, very similar to the reviled 1993 live-action Mario movie!

In the 90's, the asking price for an athlete likeness endorsement was seemingly more within reach, even for a rather shabby outfit, than it is today. Such is the legacy of ProStars, the short-lived NBC cartoon series "starring" the North American sports star trio of Wayne Gretzky, Michael Jordan, and Bo Jackson (hey, two for one!). The three didn't actually do the voices for their characters, of course, instead filming short, to-the-point talking head segments as themselves, and leaving the voice acting to the professionals (who, one assumes, were not far too famous for this ignoble task like the real men were). Originally recorded in January 2024, Kevin invites you into the ProStars pantheon.

Take me out to the baaaaallllgaaaaaame... very soon! With a new MLB season nearly upon us, and the World Baseball Classic just having wrapped up in an exhilarating victory for Team Venezuela, we present, from the Patreon vault, our January 2022 episode on Bonds on Bonds, the short-lived 2006 ESPN documentary series about the controversial Giants superslugger's quest for the home run record. Is it a good work of journalism? Not really! Did Bonds have an unusual amount of creative control? Reportedly! Does he therefore come off well? No!

Digging once again into the depths of the Now We Know vault, originally recorded in September 2022, an examination of On The Air.
July 1992. Mark Frost and David Lynch are a year removed from the cancellation of the landmark TV phenomenon Twin Peaks, and Lynch has just months prior screened Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me at Cannes, disparaged at the time, yet now considered a masterpiece.
So, the dynamic duo decide to pair up on a new show, in a whole new direction: a hokey sitcom about a 1950's TV station starring Twin Peaks alums Ian Buchanan and Miguel Ferrer. Met with scathingly negative reviews, it was pulled after just seven episodes. Did it deserve it? Well, you'll just have to lis-oh, whatever, yes! Yes it did! It's awful!

Crrrreeeeeeeak! That sound you hear is the door to the ballyhooed Now We Know vault, once again being opened to fetch your now-unlocked, once-paywalled episode for the week. This time it's Family Dog, the Steven Spielberg-backed, Brad Bird-created cartoon which aspired to be CBS' answer to The Simpsons. This was decidedly not successful, although at just ten episodes long, is it theoretically possible that a higher percentage of the entire run of Family Dog is better than the entire now-moribund 37 SEASONS OF SIMPSONS????? Probably not, but this much is true, at least: we never had to hear Martin Mull struggle to voice the dad from Family Dog into his 70's.

Guess who's back!?!?!? yeah it's willow.
Salutations and celebrations, as we once again dig into the shadowy annals of the Now We Know Patreon vault. This time, originally recorded in January 2023, we dig into the ill-fated, one (season) and done Disney+ series Willow, a follow-up to the film of the same name.

This week, unlocked from the depths of the Now We Know Patreon vault for the very first time, the missing piece of our classic advert puzzle: it's Commercials of the 80's and 90's volume four! This was the only episode of our long-running commercials series to be paywalled, so now the complete set is available free of charge right here on the main feed. Enjoy!

Your latest unlocked treasure from the Now We Know Patreon vault, first recorded and released in May of 2022: it's the Chip 'n Dale movie, starring Andy Samberg and John Mulaney, among others. I (Chris) honestly don't remember too much about this one, except that you only get like 30 seconds of Gadget as part of a rather distressing sight gag, but they did bring back Tress MacNeille for said 30 seconds! So maybe you can take some solace in that?
