Jag sa till Dig redan när Putin gick in i Ukraina 2022 att världens öde kommer att hänga på sex smala sund. Ett av dem var Hormuz. På engelska finns ett uttryck som lyder ”snatching victory from the jaws of defeat”. Att rycka segern från förlustens käftar. I skrivande stund verkar Donald Trump ha lyckats göra det motsatta. Han har ryckt nederlaget ur segerns gap. Det här är inte ”Peace through strength” – snarare ”war through appeasement”. Samma eftergiftspolitik vi alla har ägnat oss åt hittills som bara skjuter det oundvikliga på framtiden.

Förra veckans Politikbyrån har temat lättkränkta högern och ställer frågan om det är så att högern nu är den sida i svensk politik som sysslar med cancelkultur. Detta samma vecka som vänstern vill ”mygga av” och förtidspensionera Agnes Wold för hennes inställning i transfrågan, jag, Henrik Jönsson och Jan Emanuel cancelleras från Folkets hus i Borlänge av socialdemokratiska och vänsterpartistiska lokalpolitiker och IFS – Invandrare för Svenskar ställer ett helt färdiginspelat program för att de blir kränkta av minimjölkshögerprofilen Nick Alinia.

I skrivande stund ser det ut som att USA tänker ingå ett avtal med Islamiska republiken i Iran. De största förlorarna skulle såklart vara det iranska folket som törstar efter frihet. Deras mod och uppoffringar skulle vara förgäves.
