Puhelu tuli Yhdysvaltain Suomen-suurlähetystöön Kaivopuiston lähellä. Tuntematon soittaja antoi täsmällisen varoituksen:
Amerikkalaisen lentoyhtiön Pan Amin lennolle viedään pommi. Kone lähtee Frankfurtista ja lentää Yhdysvaltoihin. Oli 5. joulukuuta 1988. Soittaja kertoi, että pommi-isku tehdään kahden viikon päästä.
Niin todella tapahtui.
