    ENGLISH

Nature gave me stillness in a chaotic world with Joe Price

Meet Joe Price, a wilderness instructor from Ireland. Joe has been teaching survival skills and bushcraft proffessional for over six years now. He also tests and develops outdoor products.

Joe got lost in the modern, capitalistic world and ended up on a destructive path early on. He lived a materialistic life, had a well-paid job, a modern home, drove expensive cars - but felt unfulfilled. At his worst, he fell into drug abuse, smoked 40 cigarettes a day and ate unhealthy.

But things started to change the day he went on a hunt. Those uneventful hours in a bush in the forest began an inner transformation. For the first time in a long time, he had space to listen to his body and feel "the full experience of living".

In todays episode we talk about his insights from living in nature, about fear and psycology, boredom, stillness, todays society, humanity and the climatcrisis. We also talk about the balance of feminime and masculine in the outdoor space.

Stage 4: MaturationIrish Whiskey/Uisce Beatha Eireannach /Irish Whisky” must be matured in wooden casks, such as oak, only on the island of Ireland, such maturation being for a minimum of three years. New casks as well as casks which may have been previously used to store other alcoholic beverages, for example Madeira, Sherry, Port or Bourbon, are used. The moderate Irish climate influences the rate of maturation and enables the development of particular flavour attributes. This even maturation creates a smooth tasting and mellow product. The use of seasoned casks means that the spirit is not overpowered by excessive wood extracts and tannins but delivers a complex but balanced character to the spirit and enables the development of particular flavour attributes. Colour development, which varies in colour from pale gold to dark amber, depends upon the maturation casks chosen. ”Irish Whiskey/Uisce Beatha Eireannach /Irish Whisky” shall not be exported from Ireland in wooden casks, such as oak or other wooden containers, which may result in further maturation.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_proof

Vad menade Jeroen med confuse a cat då?

Proof Spirit [is] that which, at the Temperature of Fifty-one degrees by Fahrenheit’s Thermometer, weighs exactly Twelve Thirteenth Parts of an equal measure of Distilled Water, and also to determine the Strengths of all other Spirits, in proportion to the Quantity of such Proof Spirit which is contained therein […]”Vill ni kolla själva är referensen som följer: ”An Act to repeal an Act made in the Fifty sixth Year of His present Majesty’s Reign, for establishing the Use of an Hydrometer called Sike’s Hydrometer, in ascertaining the Strength of Spirits, instead of Clarke’s Hydrometer; and for making other Provisions in lieu thereof”, 23/5 1818, 58 Geo. III c. 28, i The Statutes of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland: with notes and references by John Raithby, vol. 7: From A. D. 1817; 57 George III–to A. D. 1819; 59 George III (London: George Eyre and Andrew Strahan, 1819), s. 408.
