几天后，中美对峙又在台湾海峡上演。6月3日，美国钟云号驱逐舰与一艘加拿大护卫舰在台湾海峡航行时，中国海军苏州号突然快速横切到美国钟云号前方，双方最近距离只有140公尺。
这两起事件发生在今年的香格里拉对话前后。这也是今年以来中美两军最激烈的摩擦事件。
中国连续两次以如此激烈的方式去拦截美国的机舰，是要发出什么信号？还是这是一种新的门罗主义的抬头？

Late last month, a Chinese fighter jet flew close to a US reconnaissance aircraft over the South China Sea. About a week later, a Chinese navy vessel cut sharply across the path of a US destroyer that was sailing through the Taiwan Strait with a Canadian frigate. The closest distance between the Chinese and American vessels was 140 metres.
Occurring before and after the highly anticipated defence summit Shangri-La Dialogue, the incidents are the most intense encounters between the Chinese and US militaries this year.

China’s Foreign Minister Qin Gang has been absent from public view for a month. He was last seen on June 25 when he met officials from Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Russia.
His disappearance was first noticed when he missed the Asean annual foreign ministers’ meeting in Indonesia earlier this month. China’s Foreign Ministry cited “health reasons” for Mr Qin missing the Asean summit, and said it had no further information on his whereabouts.
There is intense speculation about the fate of China’s main envoy, including a rumour of his extramarital affair with a TV presenter.
