On today's show we have St. Edward and UPenn grads, state champs, and NCAA Div I wrestlers Ben Hatta (EIWA Champion) and Yoshi Nakamura (2X All-American, EIWA/Penn HOF) to discuss the latest 4- part wrestling docuseries, Clash of Dynasties: St. Edward vs Walsh Jesuit.
Hatta, has previously produced critically acclaimed wrestling documentaries, Team Foxcatcher (Netflix) and Angle (Peacock)- both with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and is now directing his latest project, Clash, about the intense 10-year rivalry between the wrestling powerhouse high schools in the 1990s.
This four Episode series dives deep into the battles on the mat and the multiple struggles the teens faced off the mat, including the loss of coaches, parents, teammates...even a referee during one of their dual meets.
Hatta and Nakamura speak about the rivalry that not only changed their lives but the lives of so many athletes that went on to great national and world success. They explain how this story is more than a wrestling or sports story, but it's a human story- that can speak to anyone who has battled through adversity, stumbled and got back up, or just strived to be the best.
Check out more at clashofdynasties.com where you can buy, rent, or GIFT the series! It makes the perfect present for any sports, wrestling, or documentary fan. @clashofdynasties
