We all have situations where we find ourselves having sweaty palms, butterfly stomachs and anxiety.
The most common situation is Public Speaking. I have been making presentations for over thirty years. Largely in the wine industry and as the owner of Le Petit Chateau inn, which required a smooth delivery. Furthermore I was a Toastmaster for thirty years in Texas, California, New York, Florida
Here are some quick tips to calm your nerves:
1) It is natural to be anxious and afraid in new situations. Just don't stay there!
2) People are in awe of others and you whenever you exhibit courage in uncomfortable situations. This is especially true with public speaking.
3) Get rid of those FILLER words: AH, AND, SO , LIKE
These utterances detract from your message making people less attentive.

Selling your Stuff and the Wicked Capital Gains Tax. Remember when George Carlin did a skit on STUFF? His one line about how we all have houses for our STUFF. Then… we need to buy a bigger house to move all our stuff to because we out grew the first house..
That transaction of selling the first house will trigger a capital gain tax. And it can be wicked. At Our Age… we are downsizing and selling our stuff: Our primary residence, vacation rentals, rental properties. Possibly renting now or moving into a condo with no maintenance.
I am experiencing the shock, actually, of realizing a huge Capital Gain Tax from owning rental properties and an inn for twenty two years in new York. I am sharing the journey with folks as I believe a lot of folks do not prepare for this large taxable event.
My personal advice is to know this : you can only deduct the last three years of improvements before the sale. Therefore keep really good records of any improvements and other deductions that will lessen the Capital Gains Tax. I am now working with a TAX EXPERT ( Sheree White) because the accountants did not know how to work with Capital Gains Tax. She is also an IRS enrolled agent which makes her qualified to manage the issues. Moreover.. SHE TALKS TO THE IRS so you don’t have to be on the phone with them for hours. 16.9 million (USA) have “ditched the office” for this new adventurous work and lifestyle. Double that world wide for this trend.
These folks are not living paycheck to paycheck either. According to Nick’s research on average, their monthly income is $4.5 (USA).
People think that the digital nomad life is for the young and adventurous. Not so. Their numbers increasingly are 50’s and 60’s because they want to work but on their own projects, their own time, their own location.

This is a story about a professional woman of a certain age still saving people from the clutches of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).Sheree White began her career in bookkeeping at sixteen and realized that she loved that and working in the tax industry. As to Unlikely Partners… FARM SANCTUARY - The founder of FARM SANCTUARY, Gene Bauer, found Hilda, a sheep, discarded on a pile of dead animals at a Pennsylvania stockyard. Hilda appeared lifeless. She was so weak that she could barely lift her head to see who had come to her rescue. Baseball Ejections, Romantic Rejections
The crazy umpires and their constant ejections all point to a power play, anger out of control.
It sets a tone for the game and it isn’t a fun sport any longer when you watch these men eject players and coaches. In one instant the umpire ejected the coach before the game even started.

What’s to be done.. Read some of the comments on this video because there are some good points. I think the biggest issue is to limit the power of these umps because it really is getting out of control .
Honestly… these umpires need a therapist to help them with their anger issues… Choose another emotion for goodness sake… As in control of anger, first, learn to listen, offer solutions..
When it comes to rejections in a relationship most of us react with anger also… some of us storm out as angry umpires, lots of crying most likely and blame ourselves for the rejection.
However… being rejected is part of the relationship journey and it isn’t easy.

Baseball has to have the right announcers to be truly enjoyed… their excitement, their tone of voice makes the game more exciting right? I see a lot of great baseball plays on YouTube. The announcer always adds an extra thrill to the games. Baseballs being caught at 100 mph bare handed, acrobatic leaps and catches, painful slides.. The really good announcers describe these amazing plays with such verve, your imagination ALMOST fills in the actual plays… but not quite. Because really you want the real action . Even more importantly, the announcers have to know how to describe each play when they are calling plays because millions do just listen to the game rather than watch it .Vince Scully goes down in History as the best announcer because he could paint that picture of each play.

From Corporate to Poet
This is a story about a young seventy years of age woman, who has moved on from the corporate world to an aspiring, acclaimed poet and author of poetry . Rosalind Severin McClean has written three books of poetry and is on to her fourth. Introducing OCEANS of THOUGHTS. Hailing from Dominica in the West Indies, studying at different business schools, owning her own modeling school, she has evolved into a striking woman of beauty, elegance and composure.
