This week's episode will focus on several theories that both myself and contributors on Reddit have come up with regarding "The Voice" in Avowed, as well as our Godlike nature. This episode is entirely speculative, but it draws on a substantial amount of lore from the previous Pillars games.
Interestingly, though, there are NO SPOILERS in today's episode if you want to listen in, but at the same time, this will definitely be an episode where Eora veterans will be able to keep up easier than those new to the world. Not saying you shouldn't listen if you're new, just more of an interesting observation. Speculation is always fun, imo :)

I touch on Spoilers for Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire around the 30min mark. Once you hear the jazz music interlude if you don't want to risk it feel free to jump off, but I try not to say anything spoilery outright, I just skirt around it as best as I can.

This week we look at Aloth, a companion from both Pillars of Eternity games, and fan-favourite within the series. Our resident Wizard from the Aedyr empire, this episode talks about his background and what paths he can takes throughout the story of the Pillars games. Will Aloth make an appearance in Avowed? He's definitely a strong candidate given his ties to a certain secretive faction, and Aedyran nationality. But I suppose only time will tell.

This week's episode discusses the lost city of Ukaizo, which is an ancient city of mythology and legend in the Huana culture (the tribes that live in the Deadfire Archipelago, the setting for the second Pillars game). What Ukaizo represents to Huana (but also the other factions in play during Deadfire) is more than just a city with gold.

Boy howdy is this episode a long one. But hey, there was ALOT to go over. If you're new this show, World of Eora, is about Pillars of Eternity & Avowed (since they both share the same fantasy world). Mostly I focus on lore, today I'm putting a balanced focus on news and lore.
Now, here's the thing (and I say this at the start of the episode) - because this episode is uncharacteristically long, I'm not going to have another episode up next week. Simply so that those of you who budget their podcast time can catch up. As well, though, it's a good time for me to take a week of with my family. I've been considering taking the week of a stat holiday off of recording anyways, so this is a good chance to try that.
Anyways, so, listen to this as fast or as slow as you want, there isn't an episode next week. Hope y'all enjoy!

Hi Everyone,
With a personally busy week and weekend combined with the MASSIVE amount of stuff we saw for Avowed this week, I simply cannot keep up with all of it (I haven't even seen all the videos all the way through or read/skimmed all the articles yet). So, I'm making the decision to post-pone a full episode until next week to do an overview of it all.
That said, I caught ONE thing amongst all the news that caught my attention. A weapon in Avowed called "Drawn in Winter" shares a similar naming scheme to a Pillars of Eternity dagger called "Drawn In Spring"; the funny thing is... the lore written in Drawn in Spring's item description has something to do with the Living Lands... mayhaps it describes something we could find in Avowed?

Originally the colony of Aedyr, and then the Divine Kingdom of Readceras, this nation has it's own interesting origins/history that leads to one of the most important events in recent history (in relation to Pillars 1): The Saint's War.

This week's episode is a continuation of the "History of Eora" series I am plinking away at, where we look at the esoteric in-game "History of Eora" lore-books from the Forgotten Sanctum DLC in the second Pillars games. This week, I focus on Dyrwood related tomes (Dyrwood being the setting for Pillars 1), which results in a shorter episode (which I do on purpose, just getting back into the swing of things post-vacation). We learn about the very first Hollowborn (and what it is) as well as the inciting events that founded the nation of Readceras.

I don't do all 16 entries of these books in this episode, I just pick the ones I think could be related to Avowed / Living Lands in some way. It gets pretty interesting, and we draw some connections which might be seen in the game of Avowed.
I *will* be doing future episodes on the other 12, but likely in just 4-book segments, done topically.
