The retail landscape has changed dramatically, resulting in the digitalisation and expansion of payment channels. Retailers who gradually integrate digital payment channels into their businesses have greater flexibility in business operations and were able to provide more options and convenience to their customers. Whilst these efficiencies are undoubtedly beneficial to retailers and customers, there are still risks and threats that are needed to be addressed.
Speaking with Retail Asia, LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Vo Thanh Tai, Director for Market Planning, Fraud & Identity - APAC, shared insights on the growing digitalisation of payment channels and the concerns surrounding financial innovations in a recent podcast. He mentions how the increased number of commercial channels provided new opportunities for cybercriminals as they discovered new ways to target businesses and consumers.
