Stats Canada has recently released a report saying that the bureaucracy in Canada has increased by over 30%. This means that business owners, and citizens, spend more and more time filling out forms - so the government can meddle and control their affairs. What can and must be done about this? Jay Goldberg is with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation - he joins Stephen LeDrew to discuss this for Three Minutes.

To say the political and financial landscape has been chaotic since Donald Trump was elected is an understatement. But now Canadians are taking a hard look at their own options, hoping for an election. Given the rising poll numbers for the Liberals - it looks like it wasn’t a case of people liking Pierre Poilievre - as much as it was people hating Justin Trudeau. But looking at the Liberal option, will Mark Carney be able to stand up for Canadians? Andrew Perez is a political strategist- he joins Stephen LeDrew for Three Minutes.

Hardly anyone was still supporting Justin Trudeau in the end - He stuck around so long that the poll numbers were pointing to annihilation for the Liberals in the next election. His father was once the ‘saviour’ of the Liberals - Michael Ignatieff was labeled as the ‘saviour’ of the party in more recent memory (how did that work out?) - Now Mark Carney is being labeled by some as the new saviour of the Liberals. He is a man whose resume is more interesting than his personality - is he going to make a good Prime Minister? Patrick Gossage is the former Press Secretary to Pierre Trudeau - he joins Stephen LeDrew for Three Minutes.

Canada is a rich nation with untold natural resources - but years of Liberal green policies have left them in the ground. With the economic crisis hitting us will Canada become bankrupt, and vulnerable to an American takeover? Or will we change this disastrous course with a new Government? You know Brian Lilley - he is that columnist with the Toronto Sun - he joins Stephen LeDrew for Three Minutes.

Until just recently the experts (and you know what Stephen thinks about experts) were predicting that this upcoming Federal Election was going to be boring - that Pierre Poilievre had locked in a victory. How things have changed in a few short weeks! Mark Carney is our new Prime Minister - and this has Canadians seeing red - as many voters have shifted to the Liberals. What has happened here? Andrew Enns is Executive Vice President with Leger Polling - he joins Stephen LeDrew for Three Minutes.

Donald Trump started his second term in Office with a big bang – actually countless Big Bangs! At home with the USA imposing tariffs on its largest trading partners Canada and Mexico - and throwing Ukraine under the bus with a shameful display in the oval office. How will the world respond to this? Are American Conservatives so opposed to anything normal that they would rather stand with bloodthirsty dictators? Adam Zivo is a Columnist with the National Post - he joins Stephen LeDrew for Three Minutes

Donald Trump is successfully re-aligning the world order. His love of tariffs is shaking the economic foundations and traditional rules to the core. And what is absolutely certain is that his tariffs are forcing Canada to step up in a way we should have done a long time ago. But now we need to worry about the consequences that the Mark Carney Liberal agenda might have on our economy. Brian Lilley is a columnist with the Toronto Sun - he joins Stephen LeDrew for Three Minutes.

Canadians should not blame themselves for being confused with what's been happening south of the border - Tariffs on, tariffs off - Donald Trump continuing his rhetoric that Canada will be the 51st state. The whole world is confused. But have Canadians been so reliant on the United States that we have been afraid to fly on our own? With all of our resources? There will be pain - but Canada will end up stronger as a result of this - and we will NEVER be the 51st State.

Elected Ministers have been ceding their responsibilities to unelected bureaucrats. The people who are governing us are no longer our elected politicians. Is the problem that too many ministers are grossly unqualified for the portfolios they hold? Should we be expecting more accountability from government? Is it too late to stop this dictatorship by the nameless? John Turley-Ewart is a Contributing Columnist with the Globe and Mail - he is also a banking historian. He joins Stephen LeDrew to discuss this for Three Minutes.

Mark Carney has quickly reversed himself 180 degrees on virtually everything he has believed in recent memory, notably Carbon Tax and Pipelines. Will Canadians elect him if he is a flip-flopper? Even with this about-face the Liberals are creeping up in the polls - Is this a situation where Pierre Poilievre may not stand a chance? Patrick Gossage was the Press Secretary to Pierre Trudeau - he joins Stephen LeDrew to discuss this for Three Minutes

Or will Canada finally get the election so many have been demanding? Earlier this week we saw Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaking with authority in the face of the economic devastation facing Canadians. Many Canadians are saying that he was effective in standing up to Donald Trump. Will he use this crisis as an opportunity to cling to power? Or is the reality that Mark Carney will be our new Prime Minister next week - and we will be heading into an election. Brian Lilley is a Columnist with the Toronto Sun - he joins Stephen LeDrew for Three Minutes.

The Liberal leadership race has seen the number of party members swell from 100,000 to 400,000 in just a few weeks. First, it’s ridiculous that Justin has done away with the requirement to pay to become a member of the party. Second, how can it possibly vet all of these new members to make sure that dogs and cats have not been given Liberal memberships? Third, we know for a fact that foreign entities have been interfering with Canadian elections on all levels - aren’t the Liberals just asking for China or Russia to meddle in this campaign? Andrew Perez is with Perez Strategies - he joins Stephen LeDrew for Three Minutes.

Fukushima, Chernobyl, and Three Mile Island - this is the refrain cited by people who are opposed to the wider application of Nuclear power. Environmentalists are worried about what to do with the waste. But we live in a world where the demand for power is going to far outweigh what can be provided by wind and hydro - and we already know that burning more fossil fuels is not a good solution either. Dean Baxendale is the President of Optimum Publishing - he joins Stephen LeDrew to discuss this for Three Minutes.

We are hearing rumblings that the NDP may not be as keen to take down the government as Jagmeet initially declared. The Liberal Leadership hopefuls are all doing an about- face on the core policies of the government (that many are currently a part of). When did Canadians decide it was okay to elect a bunch of hypocrites? John Capobianco is a bigshot Conservative, and Senior Vice President and Senior Partner with FleishmanHillard HighRoad - he joins Stephen LeDrew to discuss what must be done to restore faith in government.

The Liberal Leadership hopefuls have all done an about face to a decade of Liberal policy. How can anyone believe that they are willing to turn their backs on what has been the core of the government policies for a decade (they were bad policies). And, is Mark Carney getting attention because he’s a fresh face? And is this similar to 2015 where Canadians elected a PM because he has ‘nice hair’? Andrew Enns is the Executive Vice President at Leger Polling - he joins Stephen LeDrew to discuss this for Three Minutes.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau prorogued Parliament just as chaos south of the border was unleashed on the world. But - This government has been doing nothing for months on end. Canadians deserve much better than this - Mr. Trudeau - it’s time to get Parliament back so we can call an election and get things working again.

Mark Carney has been quick to position himself as a political outsider - putting distance between himself and the wildly unpopular Trudeau Liberals. How has he managed to sell this narrative? A few months ago he was advising this government on economic policy … Andrew Perez is with Perez Strategies - he is convinced that Mark Carney is an outsider - and he tries to convince Stephen LeDrew for Three Minutes that he is correct.

In the past decade (or longer) we have seen Canadians become more, and more divided. Justin Trudeau has certainly not done anything to bring Canadians together - frankly, neither has Pierre Poilievre - they seem far too interested in partisan rhetoric than being patriotic. But - with Donald Trump’s weekly, or bi-weekly threats to Canadian sovereignty something has shifted with Canadians. Andrew Enns is the Executive Vice President with Leger Polling - her joins Stephen LeDrew to discuss this for Three Minutes.

Justin Trudeau has decreed that Canadians must drive electric cars by 2035. Meanwhile - Canadians are starting to move away from electric cars that are wildly impractical in a country where many people need to drive long distances. Is this a case of urban liberal elitism? - Is it time for these elites to spend some time outside of Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal? Michael Nitefor is the President and CEO of Air Lab, Inc. - an engineering firm looking at ways to make more fuel efficient vehicles - he joins Stephen LeDrew to discuss this for Three Minutes.
