This Wildtrack Ford Bronco has 42" inch tires, with portals and a 3.5" Radflo lift. It was amazing to drive!
Jesse from Hellabad let me drive "Ratchet Barbie" his shop 6th Gen Fprd Bronco on 42" tires, a 3.5" lift, and portals. Jesse says the portals drop the tire 5 additional inches to fit the 42" tire.

The engine makes power. That power is sent from the engine to the transmission. Then the power comes out of the transmission and goes to a transfer case that sends the power to the front or the back of the vehicle through the driveshafts to the axles. Inside the axles are another set of gears called a differential, that sends the power to the tires.

Full Size?!? 2nd Gen Bronco 78-79, 3rd Gen Bronco 80-86...
We're talking about Full Size Broncos. When we say full size, what do we mean? Large pick up “truck based” size. “Bigger can be better” sometimes, They had for years referred to the Bronco as small and nimble, then shifted their focus to keep up with the bigger1967 Full size Chevrolet Blazer’s, GMC Jimmy, and Dodge/plymouth SUVs that had taken over the buying market Also More luxurious inside and softer riding, Ford made the wheel base 12 inches wider from 92 to 104”, 14 gallon tank to a 25 gallon tank, 302 to a 351 (or 400) which you needed because it weighed in at 4500 lbs… Jon: that’s 1,000 pounds more than an early bronco. They said it would seat up to 6 but I’m not sure if there were that many seat belts. Introduced in the fall of 1977 it was referred to as the U-150 (get it not a U-15) and the base model which had round headlights price was around $6,500. The deluxe model was called a Ranger XLT Bronco Wagon for an extra $669 and came with Square headlights. 19 colors to choose from, Pile high carpeting, and a Cigar lighter, Ever burned yourself with one of those. “Special Hood and Roof Tu-Tone options were really neat and could be matched with a Tu Tone interior. One of the coolest options were the freewheelin graphics which had sunrise fades and Chromatic? My favorite things are the electric tailgate window and the fiberglass removable top. ames), Coolest two options today people look for are the Captains chairs and the Sliding rear windows First called the Big Horn, started with a blazer roof from a 68 blazer and only took Ford 10 years to finally roll the first full size though production The 351m and 400m neither of which are super popular and would get replaced with a 428 or 460. Now your options are a coyote or Godzilla! Or cummins diesel if you are like Spencer. Didn’t you do a full size video with Bronco Babe?. Bronco babes gone wild? Was it a porn?

Do you have a Ranger Bronco? You can see the interior and body code on the vin tag (aka trim tag, or warranty plate). If you can’t find that you can always go to Marti Auto and get a Marti Report which will tell you and you can get a new build sheet for your bronco and even buy a new metal plate to rivet back onto your glove box or left kicker panel if it’s a much older early bronco.

My Bronco (Jon) has a Toms Offroad 2.5” lift with a 1” body lift. But, recently I added the Bilstein 5165 Dual reservoir shocks which made my suspension really soft. And I love it, but it made the Bronco so tippy around corners. Now with the sway bar I still get the soft ride, but the Bronco handles on road so much better. A 2.5” lift is going to fit on just about any Bronco and allow you to keep the stock length brake lines and driveshafts. Once you enter into 3.5” and above, you will have to change driveshaft length, because the tires are further away from the transfer case, and you will need to extend your brake lines, because they are now further from the frame especially when you are at full drop.
Suspension packages are doing two things, 1) Changing the look of your bronco (the stance) and 2) Changing the ability to handle terrain. Toms Offroad has suspension packages from 0” (stock height), 2.5”, 3.5”, and 5.5”. Just because you buy a 5.5” lift, doesn’t mean it will handle great offroad, it just means you changed the look of your Bronco and you can fit bigger tires under your Bronco. But in each of the lift kits, you have different options that allow for more articulation and better offroad manners.
Level 2 - changes shocks, springs, and leaf spring pack.
Level 3 - Everything with level 2, plus adds shock hoops to allow you to run 4 shocks up front, 2 on each side. This gives you a softer shock and means that your suspension will compress more offroad.
Lever 4 - Everything with level 2 and 3, plus adds an inboard shock hoop to the rear which allows you to move your shocks inside the frame to give you more articulation offroad.
