Brentford gave it their all tonight but came unstuck to another Ollie Watkins winner. The Bees enjoyed a lot of possession and really put Villa under pressure throughout.. but a sloppy start to the second half cost Thomas Frank’s side ultimately.

Villa, celebrating their 150th anniversary this season, are one place above The Bees in the Premier League table after an inconsistant few months, but most will consider The Villans favourites when looking at the quality in their squad and having boosted the side in January with Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio joining on loan to good effect. Brentford are unsure of the fitness situation with Christian Norgaard and Kevin Schade going into the match.
