  • What can we say, these aren't getting any better. This movie was released just after John Lasseter hugged the straight to video sequels away..

This one does not carry any future plot, it does not fill the characters out in any way, and perhaps even takes away from some of the character relationships from the original film.
Listen as Audrey, Dan and Jimmy try to make sense of this "tale"

  • We have fully evolved into a Harry Potter Podcast. Don't know when it happened, but it did.
Think about it, Cinderella 3 has magic, wands, fairies, an evil person who you can't say their name (mostly cause they don't have one) and Audrey and Jimmy happen to know a lot about HP.

Anyway, this movie is a masterpiece. I don't care what Dan says.

Listen as Dan, Jimmy and Audrey explore the themes and details of this 2007 straight to video (and our hearts) moovee

  • We're back!!!
Fox and the Hound was a movie. The source material for that movie was dark! The sequel, Fox and the Hound 2 has absolutely nothing to do with the original film or the source material. It was like someone came up with a long episode of some Disney channel show about two cis white twin boys and they were like, we could make this into a movie, what characters could we use that have some sort of existing IP? And, thus, Fox and the Hound 2.
Hear Audrey, Dan and Jimmy explore the source material juxtaposed with the synopsis of the actual tragedy that is this not at all awaited sequel.

  • Lilo and Stitch was a charming movie about a girl and her sister experiencing and helping each other through the trauma of losing their parents and learning to be an ohana. Then Disney made 3 more movies based mainly of the wacky, farting alien who appeared in their lives to help them do this and grow as people. Then they made a TV series based on that farting alien and all of the other farting aliens. This is movie is the culmination of…all of that. And we can only pray it will remain so. Join Audrey, Jimmy, and Dan as they talk about this assault on the senses while discovering the power of aloha and a dubious legal situation involving a lawyer who is both cool and real which, let’s face it, they might deserve this time. Take a listen, cousins!

  • At the request of listener Sarah, we watched and reviewed Mamma Mia the movie, the musical. Along with a deep dive into the beats and music of this film, we discovered Dan's deep loathing for a movie like this even existing. Did he like it upon viewing? You'll have to listen to find out. Also, we have discovered a new Spanish language learning app you cannot miss!

Enjoy! You're welcome Sarah. Or, sorry Sarah!

  • Taking place between Bambi's mother's death and Bambi shown as a young adult buck, the film follows Bambi's relationship with his father, The Great Prince of the Forest, and Bambi's efforts to earn his father's love for him. It was first titled Bambi and the Great Prince, but was renamed Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest and later Bambi II.

This movie was released theatrically in nearly every other developed country outside of the U.S. Some of us think it is good enough to have been released in the U.S. but alas, it was left to the annals of straight to video. It was a pleasant watch, father son coming of age tale. enjoy!

  • Hey, so sorry we missed last month. It got away from us, and we’re not good at time management. Do you know what else isn’t good? This movie!

Join your audibly disappointed and exhausted hosts as they, though they sound as though they might be, are not actually drunk. That’s just the power of straight-to-video cinema! Join them as they talk about what might be the worst of the sequels, even counting the one we can’t say without vomiting in our mouths.

Also, if you’ve never listened to an episode of this podcast, we aren’t into vomit or anything. It’s a running joke. You should listen! Come for us making fun of the movie, and stay for the happy ending: when the movie is over. That’s the happy ending.

  • "The three main dancers from Breakin' – Kelly "Special K" Bennett (Lucinda Dickey), Orlando "Ozone" Barco (Adolfo Quinones), and Tony "Turbo" Ainley (Michael Chambers) – struggle to stop the demolition of a community recreation center by a developer who wants to build a shopping mall. Viktor Manoel, Ice-T, Lela Rochon and Martika also appear as dancers."

This secretly might be the best movie we have ever reviewed. It is fun, silly and there is a lot of dancing. Watch this one with friends, grab some Zima and have a blast

  • Well, it’s that time of year again as we do our annual round of “dealer’s choice” films so that Jimmy can watch a Christmas movie, Dan can be a secular contrarian, and Audrey doesn’t have to get drawn into that mess. This year our Christmas movie is the Rankin Bass The Year Without A Santa Claus and we finally realized that doing this episode before the actual holiday probably made more sense. Join us as we explore the true meaning of Christmas: stop-motion films. Fans of our technical difficulties might want to know that we had some audio problems with Audrey’s feed around the middle but we’ve made great efforts to make it feel completely seamless.

  • Pooh’s Heffalump Movie is a film so utterly terrifying that many won’t even mention it by name. In our special Halloween episode, we return to the STV studios to recount the utter horror visited upon us by this very frightening Halloween movie. Will this movie be a treat? Or will it trick us…into having scary nightmares?! Listen to this episode with the lights on. Or, more likely, while you drive somewhere, clean the house, walk the dog…you know, usual podcast stuff.

  • Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch is a true sequel to the original Theatrical release Lilo and Stitch. Stitch!: the Movie (recently reviewed on Scraping the vault) was a spin off and extended pilot episode of the lilo and stitch TV show. Much like many of these Disney toon studios films which were the most realized episodes of short lived animated series see: Tarzan and Jane, Belle's Magical world etc. Lilo and Stitch 2 is a great sequel. Period. Well produced, great acting performances great animation etc. As Bob Iger takes over the Walt Disney Company, the acquisition of Pixar and John Lasseter now creative head of all Disney Animation, we are nearing the beginning of the end of these straight to video sequels befor we enter the tinkerverse.

"It was a good Movie. I enjoyed every minute of it"
    Dan
