The dental area is not a stand-alone system. It interacts with the other systems in the body. Dental problems are so closely tied to disorders in other parts of the body that sometimes your dentist may be the first to notice the problem because dental conditions can lead to other diseases in the body.

Hopefully you can see that this series aligns with my philosophy of becoming an expert at your own health. You'll need to tap into that philosophy to build your health plan. Some of the answers you'll know from experience. For example, you have dry mouth or take some medications that can cause it. However, you may have to talk with your dentist or hygienist about the many other risk factors you could have. You can use this series as a guide. Go back and listen to (or read the blog posts of) the other episodes in the series. Make a list of the problems that could apply to you. Ask your dentist about them. But first, ask yourself some questions about them.

This is episode 7 in our 10-part series on dental health. We've already talked about dry mouth, diet, biofilm, genetics, and pH. The objective is not to preach about sweets, brushing, and flossing but to find the causes of dental health problems, understanding that many of these problems are not our fault at all and may be completely out of our control, like genetics and dry mouth. With this newfound knowledge, we'll have a better idea of what actions to take to improve.

We've gotten to the 6th installment of this series all about healthy and unhealthy teeth. Our focus is not on the brushing, flossing, and avoiding sweets that you've heard about all your life. It's about finding the causes of tooth decay. With this knowledge, we can better understand how to move forward and improve the state of our teeth.

It's #4 in our series on taking care of your teeth. The difference from what you may have heard before is that we are exploring the why and how of the problems that happen in the mouth. With that knowledge, I think we can understand the link between the causes and the solutions to provide a better plan for dental health. At least, that's the plan.

This episode will be focused on diet. How does our diet affect our teeth and mouth positively and/or negatively? What can we do to improve this aspect of our health by eating differently? And what foods exactly are good and bad for us when it comes to the dental area? I hope to answer these questions and more in this episode. And if you have a question that I don't answer today, one of the best ways to ask it is to do so in a comment to this video. Just scroll down and start typing. I'll be notified of the comment and I will attempt to answer either in reply to your comment, or in a future episode if I think it might be beneficial to the whole audience.

It's the 2nd in our series of 10 episodes about Dental Health. The series explores the why and how of dental issues and then how to take action to correct and prevent them.
This time we're talking about dry mouth. What causes it? Why is it a problem and not just an uncomfortable condition? What can be done about it?

Today we are starting a new series on dental health. Why is dental health important? Does it really fit within the bounds of fitness, diet, and medicine? Well, yes! We're going to talk about fitness. We're going to talk about how what you eat and when you eat can impact your dental health. And at a minimum, dental care is part of your overall medical life.

So, it's the 84th and final episode in our series "Shattering the Yo-yo". Last episode, we took a look back at the last episode of 2018, number 111 which was actually published on January 2nd of 2019. But I suppose it was so close I decided to put it in review.

I'm pretty sure I was very critical of the keto diet from the beginning. And even in this interview, you can tell that Michael had lost a lot of weight, but his wife, as his medical professional, told him this was not a healthy way to eat. It seems pretty obvious to me that a diet of almost all fat cannot be healthy, despite what the body is doing.

Episode 108 was recorded at Devil's Den State Park, which I have been to many times. And I was undoubtedly on the Yellow Rock trail. I've never been on an other trail there, which makes me think maybe I should try some of the other ones. But I love the view from the top, which you can see in the pictures from past episodes.

I remember this day very well; it was November 3rd, 2018. The episode was called "Achieving the Goal," a two-parter, this being part 1. The goal was to walk two circuits of the Lake Fayetteville trail in one day, and this was recorded on the day that I did it.

Well, this episode came out on December 17, 2018. It's a little dated now, you may have noticed. Walmart still has grocery pickup. The thing is, everybody does now. Our regional chain in this area has it, too.

In addition to learning about Mauritius, a country I had never even heard of before, there were great life discoveries revealed in this episode. My comments about walking and running requiring no financial investment are even more impactful to my philosophy as of late. Off and on in my life, I have wavered between materialism and minimalism. And for the past few years it has been more on the minimalist side. How little can I get by with to do what I need to do? I see possessions as burdens and want to get rid of any unnecessary ones.

Welcome. The biggest thing I get from this episode is adaptation. When life throws something at me that knocks me off course, like COVID, for example, or a torn Achilles tendon, I need to adapt. If I have an injury I can look at alternate modes of exercise. I can switch hands if I'm having trouble with one hand. If I can't go outside because of a pandemic, I can workout with weights or a stationary bike at home. If I'm completely unable to exercise, I can adjust my diet accordingly so I don't gain weight from idleness.

I kind of wanted to talk about time today. I also wanted to mention that I saw a news article about "Long COVID" and some new information about it, so hopefully, that will show up in a future episode. I've wanted to learn something new about that for a long time. I know there is a study I've checked on a couple of times and have not seen anything new. A long-term study on COVID.
