  • In this episode, we dive into how often we unknowingly mold ourselves to fit others' expectations—just like city trees shaped by human intervention. Did you know, people are 50% more likely to take advice from friends than from experts. But if our friends and family suffer from the same conditioning and limiting beliefs, is their advice really in our best interest?

Using trees as a metaphor, I explain how forest trees grow in harmony with their surroundings because they know themselves. Meanwhile, city trees are pruned and shaped by external forces, often growing in unhealthy ways. Similarly, when we seek advice from others, we risk being molded by their own conditioning.

Topics Covered about who others want you to be
➡️ How friends’ advice can reflect their limiting beliefs.
➡️ Lessons from forest trees about natural growth and self-expression.

  • In this episode, I explore the profound lessons nature offers us about navigating grief. Reflecting on the importance of giving ourselves the space and time to grieve, I draw parallels between the natural world and the human experience of loss. Just as plants go through cycles of growth and decay, we too must allow ourselves to process our emotions fully, embracing each stage of grief as a necessary part of our personal evolution.

By viewing grief through the lens of nature, we learn to approach it in a healthy and constructive way, metabolizing what serves us and letting go of what no longer fits.

I also delve into the metaphor of a functioning ecosystem, where everything that enters is either utilized or discarded to maintain balance. This concept mirrors our emotional journey—processing grief is essential to our well-being, helping us transform pain into growth.

Finally, I discuss the role of a supportive community in this process, highlighting the importance of connection and shared experience in fostering personal resilience. Join me as we uncover how nature’s wisdom can guide us through the complexities of grief, offering hope and healing along the way.

  • A fascinating discussion with Giulia about the importance of human/non-human collaboration through performance and somatic art. Giulia collaborates with otherkin, and sees this collaboration as a way to tackle the ecological crisis. To embody this partnership, she moved her artist's studio into the garden.

Giulia Mattera is an artist-researcher working with Live Art. Her practice explores ecology, human-nonhuman collaboration, and somatic practices situated in the garden. She has shown her work internationally in Europe, USA, and Latin America. Mattera is currently a PhD candidate at BCU (UK) researching ecological issues via Live Art corporeal practices situated in the garden, which she forefronts as the artist’s studio.

  • Looking through the results of my Spirit Wild Plant quiz over the last seven months, I discovered an unexpected trend. And I think it has to do with helping us through these stressful times we are in.

Cattail and Chickweed have been appearing consistently. Could this be kin's way of helping humans tap back into their wildness, resilience, and freedom? It feels like they really want us to learn the importance of navigating turbulent times with emotional maturity, recognizing and acknowledging emotions rather than suppressing them.

In this episode, we talk about how to express strong emotions in a healthy and constructive manner, and I invite you to explore the energies of Cattail and Chickweed to better understand the flow between emotions, intellect, and instinct.

    Topics Covered about stressful times
➡️Wild Plants, and their roles in helping humans
    ➡️Cattail's connection to emotions
➡️Trusting your instincts, even when emotional|
    ➡️Chickweed's lessons in trusting intuition
