My podcast is about practical beekeeping today. As a beekeeper I have 40 hives over 4 apiaries. All my colony increases are as a result of splits and supported by frames of capped brood from taken swarms. Varroa Resistant Queens are reared from colonies that also display strong over wintering, early build up …..so great personalities. All my apiaries are in a rural farm setting with woods, flower meadows, farm crops and several villages within foraging range for the Bees. Our excess grafted varroa resistant queens we sell to local beekeepers. In spring we sell over wintered 5 frame nucs with varroa resistant queens. The nucs are not a jigsaw of frames from different colonies and they must have at least 3 weeks of new capped brood so we know the queen is in great shape. And finally we work with companies that feel it good to have bees on their properties, from providing the colonies, specifying the hive hardware , regular weekly visits and shorts videos. We can mentor the companies new beekeepers.
