Here we take a look at the idea of Minority Stress, which helps explain why it is difficult for parents who are adjusting to the information that their child is trans, non-binary or gender diverse. This concept is one that we build on throughout the rest of the course, as it's incredibly important for understanding what dysphoria is and how to help your child find relief, among other things.

This episode is all about what you do with your fear, when you're afraid for your child, and how you can avoid the most common mistake parents often make. We've called this 'The Parental Fear Paradox", and it's about how trying to protect your trans child might paradoxically be the hardest things they face.
