Transformers: The Ultimate Guide
In the second half of our bumper post-TFNation episode, we look back at the Binder of Revelation from before there was a Binder of Revelation: Transformers: The Ultimate Guide, the one true history of the Transformers (as long as you're in the mid-2000s), whose decisions are sometimes clever and often baffling. Join us as we dig up the origin of the Dinobots, discuss which Decepticons would be into being "collared and leashed", and discover that Classics was the end of history. Also: ha ha, "Unicron's evil taint".

Back in June, we were lucky enough to get invited on behalf of TFWiki.net to watch an advance screening of Transformers One and interview producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and director Josh Cooley! While Wadapan sadly couldn't make it, Jo and friend of the show Umar had the opportunity to ask Lorenzo and Josh questions sourced from the TFWiki community. Listen in to find out what they had to say!

TFNation 2024 retrospective
Whoops! We intended this to be a mini-episode discussing both TFNation 2024 and Transformers: The Ultimate Guide, but it got out of hand and we ended up with a full three hours of recorded audio — so this episode is gonna be all about TFN! Join us as we discuss the guests of honour being assaulted by salsa goons, sleepy Gregg Berger storytime, crank opinions about cosplay contests, and Snake-Eyes mania. Plus: did you know that ninjuns were deadly assassins?

Panini issues 1-9
Simon Furman gets the band back together in today's episode, where we're taking a look at the surprisingly high-effort Transformers Armada comic published by Panini Comics (née Marvel UK). We talk Earthforce vibes and activity pages before we're joined by Stuart, who tells us all about Andrew Wildman oversharing and the worst game of Guess Who ever. Plus, we look at a little-known prequel comic to the PS2 Armada video game!

Armada episode 52 - Mortal Combat / Micron Legend episode 52 - Shitō
Something cool finally happened! We pour one out for Ninja World and reflect on the first arc of Daniel Warren Johnson's Transformers before taking a look at the final episode of Transformers Armada, which in many ways embodies the frustratingly almost-good nature of the show - but at least the fight between Optimus and Megatron is REALLY COOL, and our discussion ends on one of the most absurd twists we've had in the history of this show. Then, we look back over Armada's overall run, picking out the highlights (and lowlights) and discussing how we'd change things if we could do it all over. Fatality!

Sigma 6 episodes 1-2 - Cobra Strike and Escape
Hot off the tail of our episodes on Spy Troops and Valor vs Venom, we take a look at the first episodes of G.I. Joe: Sigma 6. Does Snake Eyes really need a team of ninja babies? Did 4Kids paint over Buzzer's chainsaw? Was it a good idea to make episode 2 largely about Hawk's horrible failson? It's another episode of Be A Hero, the podcast that has definitely always been about G.I. Joe!

Armada episode 51 - Origin / Micron Legend episode 51 - Kessen
For our penultimate episode, we pull receipts on special guest Chris McFeely and return to the days before Sky TV. Join us as the preeminent Transformers historian gives us the basics on Unicron's similarity to Mumm-Ra, twenty years of built-up resentment about Powerlinx Optimus Prime, and the reasons that Fred should be protected at all costs. There's no nom-nom, but don't let that put you off!

Dreamwave issues 14-18 - Worlds Collide
We return to the Dreamwave Armada comic for its final arc, which looks an awful lot like a Generation 1 comic instead. Wada forgets what anime looks like, Jo struggles to feign interest in Optimus Prime doing nothing for four issues, and Simon Furman manages to write misogynistic dialogue in a story with no women. Plus, we finally discover the central theme of Armada!

Armada episode 49 - Alliance / Micron Legend episode 49 - Unicron
Unicron makes his debut for, like, the 10th episode in a row, with an episode that tries its damnedest to live up to the transformation sequence from The Transformers: The Movie. The Autobots' attempts to play nice are stonewalled, Optimus doesn't care about people dying if he can't see them, Megatron totally doesn't care about his soldiers (b-b-b-baka), and Demolishor has something like a character arc. Plus: Blackout! Remember him?

Armada episode 48 - Cramp / Micron Legend episode 49 - Shinnen
Unicron Trilogy superfan Tyra joins us for what's perhaps the most celebrated episode in Transformers Armada: the one where Starscream goes swimming without waiting an hour after eating. Come with us as we play with these toys in our minds, looking at aggressive negotiations, emotional logic, and whether or not the Armada dub can ever be good.

Armada episode 47 - Portent / Micron Legend episode 47 - Pendant
According to Wada, he was actually saying "moon's horn-ted", but I refuse to make that the title of the episode. Anyway, I get really irrationally angry at the episode in this one, so enjoy that.

Armada episode 46 - Drift / Micron Legend episode 46 - Shinjitsu
We're finally here! Join us for the Most Important Episode of Armada as we learn the secret origins of the Mini-Cons. Wads buys the worst birthday present ever and invents an arc for Wheeljack, and Jo thinks back to when the kids were actually characters. It's not just a commercial - it's a work of art!

Armada episode 45 - Dash / Micron Legend episode 45 - Uragiri
After a couple of real disappointments, we get back in the swing of things with some classic Decepticon Bickering. Hot Shot just wants to talk, Wheeljack reveals the secret fourth Mini-Con weapon, and Tidal Wave don't know nothin' about nothin'. All this, and Jo absolutely blindsides Wads with one of the funniest plot details of all time that was dropped from the dub.

Dreamwave issues 6-13 - Fortress
We once again take a break from the cartoon to have a look at Simon Furman's debut on the Armada comic, which leans into his strengths — though they might not be what you think! Emergent themes, the full spectrum of Dreamwave art, and a villain that's ruthlessly committed to dialectics: we ended up enjoying this one more than we thought we would!

The best character in all of Armada has arrived, and so has Daniel Adkins! Join us as they spin us a tale of space knights, wiki-work and Powerlinx decoes, before we fall through a vortex into an episode with promising, memorable imagery... that the writers just didn't care enough to do anything with.

Armada episode 42 - Miracle / Micron Legend episode 42 - Fukkatsu
We delve into the Mystic Mystery of the Mini-Cons this week, with an episode that gets points for *trying* with its dub... even if it manages to "fix" errors that don't exist in the process. Blurr has been replaced with an impostor, High Wire wants to go to Candy Mountain, Megatron is keeping a picture of his nemesis on his pillow, and Hot Shot is, like, 10. PLUS: Orbs, generally.

Our prayers for actual human interaction and focus on the kids is finally answered... but is it too little too late? Armada episode 40 - Remorse / Micron Legend episode 40 - Aseri
A slow news week (or should that be "Joe news week"?) gives way to a character piece with some interesting animation, focusing on Hot Shot in the wake of Optimus's death — but more importantly, SCAVENGER GETS TO DO STUFF AGAIN! Plus, find out why Rad and Hot Shot are subtextually the same character!
