If you’re navigating a new or suspected ADHD diagnosis for your kiddo, let me throw you a life preserver. Navigating an ADHD diagnosis is a little like fumbling around in the dark — so consider this a tiny flashlight to help you figure out which resources and next steps you might want to consider, from one experienced parent to another. NOTE: I forgot to add step 9: obtain a neuropsychological evaluation. This is the gold standard for diagnosing ADHD and catching other related behavioral and learning diagnosis. This day of testing looks like fun and games to kids and provides you with a detailed report of how they learn and process information. This can be a key to accessing the services you need for your child, so I consider it a “must have” foundational piece.
