Join us as Alex Counts discusses his journey of founding the Grameen Foundation and the principles of self-help and health management that helped him as he sought to change the world through his humanitarian efforts.
Alex is an educator, consultant to nonprofit organizations (through his company, AMC Consulting LLC), and a writer. He teaches at the University of Maryland School of Public Policy and is an affiliated faculty of its Do Good Institute. He is also the founder and (for 18 years) President/CEO of Grameen Foundation and the author of "Changing the World Without Losing Your Mind".

Ben Cook is an Associate Law Professor at BYU Law and director of the BYU Center for peace and conflict resolution. He is a Utah court-qualified mediator, and has developed and delivered workshops on dispute resolution in cities across the United States and in various countries. He is an Arbinger Institute certified facilitator, and co-author of the book "Advanced Negotiation and Mediation: Concepts, Skills, and Exercises." Professor Cook earned a J.D. from Georgetown University, and master’s degrees in international development and comparative education, as well as a bachelor’s degree in English, magna cum laude, from BYU.

Lora Cook holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership with an emphasis in research methodology and international program development and evaluation, and master's degrees in international development and organizational behavior. She is the Executive Director of GlobalEducation Allies and Au Pair Weekend and has spent much of the past thirty years traveling, studying, working, and teaching in more than 45 countries on six continents.

Guest: Alfonso Gambardella was born in Rome, Italy. He received his undergraduate degree from the Università di Genova in Italy. He then got a master’s degree in Economics from New York University and after got his PhD in Economics from Stanford University. He is now a Professor of Management and Head of the Department of Management and Technology at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. Alfonso has been published in many articles and books covering his key research areas of strategy, innovation, and management.
