  • In today's episode, Michelle & Brad talk about the concept of a relaxed woman and explore what that looks like in practice. What does the "relaxed woman" embody? Is it possible in today's society? Does she even exist?

If you've ever wished you had a more relaxed and balanced approach to life, you won't want to miss this week's episode.

  • Michelle & Brad are kicking this season off talking about the concept of "LFG" (Let's Fu^&ing Go!) in the context of health, wellness and yes, weight loss.

LFG is about getting your health back on track and away from all the internet noise. It's not sexy. It's not flashy. And there's nothing anyone can really sell you on. But it works. It's all about getting back to basics and putting in the work.

Michelle walks through exactly what has worked for her, what's been a struggle and how to keep your mindset healthy though it all.

If you've struggled with "doing all the right things" and still aren't feeling your best, this episode is for you. Think of it as a new set of training wheels to get you where you want to go.

Today's episode is brought to you by Pique, makers of some of Michelle's most beloved teas and beverages meticulously crafted for our health and wellness. Check them outdoor yourself!

  • Here's the deal. When we give too many shi^%s about too many things it can feel at best, overwhelming, and at it's worst anxiety inducing and paralyzing.

In today's episode, Michelle and Brad identify the reasons why we give a sh&^ and talk about how we can care about something without internalizing it in an unhealthy manner.

  • That's right. They're talking Taylor Swift! Take a listen to this fun episode where Michelle and Brad talk all about T Swizzle and what we can learn from her and her accomplishments.

Taylor Swift's extraordinary career has been the result of talent, diligence and belief. Brad and Michelle extract just a few of the lessons we can glean from her and talk about how we can apply those concepts to our own lives.

  • What exactly is intuition and do all of us have it? How do we recognize intuition in an overthinking mind? Should we always listen to our intuition?

We all know what intuition means but are we actually tapping into it and using it for our highest good? These are just few of the questions Brad & Michelle explore in today's episode about, you guessed it, intuition.

  • Does it ever seem like the work you're putting into your workouts doesn't line up with the results you're seeing? Does it ever feel like everyone else has all the time in the world to fit in a workout, except for you? Do you feel what once worked for your body is no longer effective?

If you answered, "yes" to any of those questions, this episode is for you. Michelle & Brad talk about how to move forward when you get into a workout rut. And don't worry, it's not just the same, "wake up earlier", "try harder" that we've become accustomed from hearing from the fitness industry. Instead, it's a realistic, approachable conversation on identifying what's not working, how to pivot and how to stay with it.

  • Do you ever feel like the messaging we hear in society doesn't align with the reality of what's actually happening in society? We're told not to stress, but live in a time where we're inundated with stressors. Mental health is an important topic, but are we actually practicing what we preach from the top down? And don't even get started with health and dieting messaging which can be full of conflicting narratives.

Join Michelle and Brad as they dissect this topic and talk about ways to evaluate outside messaging and distractions while practicing your own value system.

Today's episode is brought to you by AG1. AG1 is a daily nutritional drink loaded with vitamins, minerals, pre and probiotics, as well as adaptogens. Join us for a 30-day challenge this October!

  • Inspired by Spring cleaning, Michelle & Brad chat about taking out the clutter. Physically and mentally. They discuss the various kinds of clutter that we constantly accumulate and the importance of removing it from our lives to be optimally present.

In personal updates, they also chat about the pitfalls of fitness trackers and Michelle's purpose with The Whole Smiths.

  • Today we have friend of Get Wellthy, Casper ter Kuile, back to talk about the art of connection, how to foster community in today's world and how "letting go" is intricately tied into spirituality.

You can find more information on his small group course, The Nearness, here. Make sure to follow Casper on Instagram to stay up to date with all of his work.

  • In today's episode, Brad and Michelle dissect the notion that today's woman can have it "all". A main theme that runs through the conversation is the discussion of what "all" actually means and the value of that needing to be able to vary by woman. Can every woman have all based on what that all is to them?

Do women have too much on their plate to effectively have it "all"? Is society currently structured in a way so that any woman can have whatever it is that they consider "all"?

We may not have the answers but let's get the discussion going.

In this episode, Michelle and Brad chat all about how phone intrusions and urgency culture have gotten to be problematic. They explore how it can be impacting things like anxiety, productivity and more.

As well, Brad refuses to admit he's stubborn and Michelle discovers she's anemic and has a developing lisp??

  • What do you think about when you hear the word self-care? A 5 star resort? Or something more simplistic like an uninterrupted shower?

Over the last several years, the meaning of self-care in our culture has morphed. While bringing this idea to light has definitely helped some realize the need to slow down and fill their cups, it has also given others a warped sense of the phrase, leaving them to believe that they are undeserving or not in need of the “luxury” of self-care.

Today, we are diving into what true self-care is and why it’s essential for all of us. Not only will you leave this episode with a clear understanding of what self-care is, but you will walk away with tactical steps on how to begin identifying what you are currently lacking in the self-care realm.

Life is crazy, and in a world that encourages productivity over sanity, it’s easy to feel depleted. Taking care of yourself is not a luxury, it’s a basic human need.

  • We always talk the talk about gratitude but what does it mean to walk the walk of gratitude?

There’s no doubt gratitude has become yet another coveted buzzword. If you get online for any amount of time, you’ll find gratitude practices, meditations, and memes all around the idea of producing ways to be grateful. But how does that actually apply to our everyday lives? Is what everyone is selling us online actually making a difference or is it all a fluke?

Today Michelle and Brad talk about gratitude from a higher level standpoint, as well as a more tactical approach. It’s true that gratitude can have a direct impact on our well being and our lives as a whole, but these practices should be more than just another task we cross off of our never-ending to-do list before we mindlessly go about our days.

Gratitude is more about who we are, and how we can find ways to be grateful in even the seemingly insignificant circumstances. That’s what today’s show is all about.

We also take a deeper dive into why “shallow” gratitude is a-ok in this week’s Get Wellthy Bite-Sized pod on Patreon. Not to mention, we created a worksheet for our Patreon community that will walk you through a deeper level of gratitude for you to connect with.

Listen today to hear more, and don’t forget to grab your gratitude worksheet from Patreon!

A study on gratitude and how it correlates to our moods. The benefits of having a gratitude practice. How gratitude impacts the way we view things like money and how we spend it.How to get into a state of gratitude.Michelle and Brad share the story of a pivotal season where they shifted to gratitude.Ways to implement gratitude into our lives.Baby Knox makes his grand debut with adorable baby grunts as he snoozes on the job.

  • What the hell does nuance have to do with wellness?!

Extreme dieting or eating whatever you want.

Working out to the extreme, or not working out at all.

    Carb cutting, or carb-loading.

Cutting out all technology, or using it for everything.

Here’s the point: a black and white way of thinking isn’t healthy, and it’s not helping our wellness or our well-being in any sense of the word.

That’s where nuance comes in, and why we are discussing the need to embrace nuance in today’s episode. If you’re unfamiliar with what we mean by nuance, you’re in the right place because we are breaking it all down today.

We live in a beautiful world full of choices and more information than ever at our fingertips. Making space for nuance allows us to continue learning, growing, and it keeps us from feeling handcuffed to old ways of thinking with no rationale. Ultimately, embracing nuance gives us space to continue being well, learning, and growing and that’s why it’s so important. Listen today to learn more.

    Episode Highlights:

Defining nuance. Why trying to make a positive spin on everything is ridiculous. The importance of being able to accept that some parts of life simply suck...and that’s ok.The impact that marrying ourselves to ideologies has on us.Why critical thinking is so essential.Michelle teases everyone with a story that she never tells. • Among the thousands of other current buzzwords as of late, spirituality is certainly at the top of the list...but at the heart of it all, is it working? Have we taken it too far from its intended roots?

Today, this is something Michelle and Brad had the honor of discussing with Zack Alexander.

Zack is a Shamanic Healer & Shadow-Work Coach, and today he shares his journey with us. He is candid as he talks about the role spiritually plays in his life even as an expert and how he arrived to the place and mindset he is today.

While we agree there is absolutely a place for spirituality in our lives, we have felt like we’re seeing a trend to use spirituality as a cop out to avoid accepting responsibility for our own actions or the work that one needs put in for genuine connection and alignment.

Have we taken it too far? Are we using it as a way to sit back and watch Netflix as we let the universe do it’s job or is that what we’re supposed to do?

Listen today, to see where we landed.

    Episode Highlights:

Zack’s background and how he went from attending law school to owning a healing practice. Why spirituality is making a questionable shift today. The impact social media has on spirituality. The detriment of the manifestation trend. The epidemic of people taking on external things to form their identity and inner self. Why micro trauma can the issue and necessarily not one monumental trauma.Michelle talks about her past life as a chronic song repeater.
