Welcome to Part V of my 8 episode series about my time with WA Police.
Today, I’m diving into a pivotal chapter of my life, my time at a police station where I had the unique opportunity to learn more about drugs, the not so good side of life and the complexities of policing. It was a time of immense growth and challenge where I was fortunate to work with a super supportive team and learn from an incredible sergeant who taught me invaluable lessons about leadership and resilience. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing. Alongside the camaraderie and learning experiences, there were darker moments including instances of bullying and gaslighting, as well as incidents where welfare and mental health support were glaringly absent. These realities added layers of difficulty to an already demanding environment.
Before we begin, I want to issue a gentle caution. Some of the incidents I’ll share may be confronting or hard to listen to. I’ve taken care to redact all identifying details and will provide only a brief overview to respect privacy and maintain focus on the broader lessons from my experience.
Thank you for joining me on this journey as I unpack the highs, the lows and the lessons learned during my time on the front line at Bayswater Police Station.

Join me for the third episode in my 8 part series about my time with WA Police.
In this episode we dive into my second and final rotation as a Probationary Constable - my time at North West Metro Response.
This was like being thrown into the deep end of response policing dealing with everything from family domestics to disturbances, from welfare checks to sudden deaths and fatal accidents. Life on the front line was faced paced and explosive with a never ending list of incidents to attend.
While I had an amazing team it wasn't without dramas from a fellow female colleague yet commendations from strangers on the other. You will also hear about my first time having a close encounter with a knife and the realisation that you must always remain vigilant along with the surprising spaces people will hide to avoid arrest.
Join me as I reflect on my time as a response officer and the lessons I learned to further my policing career.Support the show

Today’s episode is a little different and a whole lot of fun because I have a very special guest, my husband Steve! He’s here to turn the tables and interview me about my recent 7-day supported hike along the stunning Cape to Cape track. But don’t let the "support person" title fool you, this man was equal parts cheerleader, chauffeur, gear hauler, and accommodation extraordinaire.
Together, we’ll unpack the highs and lows of this epic adventure like navigating rocky paths, battling long lonely beaches and long drives in between. You’ll hear about the moments that tested my patience, the laughs that kept us going, and how this journey became more than just a hike. It was a metaphor for resilience and teamwork.
Expect some playful banter, a few “did-that-really-happen” moments, and maybe even some insider stories about what it takes to keep a hiker and her support crew moving forward. So, lace up your boots, or just grab a cuppa, and join us as we dive into the challenges and triumphs of my Cape to Cape adventure!Support the show

Join me for the second episode in my 8 part series about my time with WA Police.
In this episode we dive into my first rotation after graduating from the academy—my time on the "Booze Bus." This was a whirlwind experience, packed with a mix of adrenaline, rookie mistakes, and unforgettable moments. From setting up Random Beath Checks to encountering all sorts of characters on the road, it was a real initiation into life on the front line. But it wasn’t all action and excitement as I noticed cracks in the workplace culture—signs of bullying and harassment and then there were the rookie blunders, like the time I forgot to secure my firearm. It’s an episode that has it all: the highs, the lows, and the hard lessons that come with being thrown into the deep end straight out of the academy. Join me as I reflect on my introduction to policing, and how it set the stage for everything that followed.

Welcome to the first episode of The Everyday Warriors Podcast (TFP rebranded), and today we're diving into a topic that affects so many—sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace.
Meet Simone, a married mum of two, who faced the challenges and pain of working in environments where she felt disrespected and unsafe. A topic that I am all too familiar with along with many other females in the workplace.
But as painful as those experiences were, they taught Simone the importance of protecting her energy and setting boundaries that honours who she is. Through resilience and self-discovery, she made the decision to move on from those toxic spaces and create a business that’s not just aligned with her own energy, but one that helps others do the same.
Today, we’ll explore how you can turn adversity into empowerment, honour your true self, and build a life that supports your growth, well-being, and purpose. Whether you’ve been through it or know someone who has, this conversation is about healing, reclaiming your power, and working in ways that align with your energy.

In this episode we dive into an epic adventure of healing and self-discovery as I share my personal experience hiking the 1000km Bibbulmun Track, end to end. This wasn't just a physical journey—it was a transformative path I chose as part of my PTSD healing process. Step by step, kilometre by kilometre, I walked through the dense forests, along the rugged coastline, and over the challenging terrain, not just to reach the end but to find my way back to myself.
The Bibbulmun Track became a metaphor for my healing—a journey where every step brought me closer to rediscovering who I truly am beneath the layers of trauma and pain. With the vastness of nature as my only company, I learned to confront the inner battles, embrace my vulnerabilities, and reconnect with my own strength.
Becoming an *Everyday Warrior* wasn’t about conquering the track; it was about conquering the fears that had held me back. This episode is a raw, honest reflection on how putting one foot in front of the other can help heal not just the body but the mind and spirit as well. Tune in and join me on this powerful journey of resilience and rebirth.

In this personal episode I discuss my upbringing in the Roman Catholic Church. It's not about judging the church itself or others but rather about seeking understanding and finding one's own path and belief systems.
In my experience, religion has offered a framework for exploring some of life's biggest questions, but it has also provided a sense of community and belonging throughout my early childhood into early adulthood.I have discovered it is crucial to discern our own lives and beliefs rather than simply adopting those of our families. Our spiritual journey is unique and is shaped by personal experiences and insights. Embracing this individuality allows us to grow authentically and find a deeper connection to our own values and truths.
