Whether a company is just starting on a Business Agility transformation journey or they have a well established Agility culture, they are still faced with one of the great challenges in running a business, hiring the right people.
Today we’re looking at some of the unique aspects for hiring in Agile organisations so I’ve grabbed our very own Gregg Weatherall from our EPiC back office as well as Kris Coulthard from Precision Sourcing, a digital and technology focused recruitment agency, to get some insight into some of the ways to overcome those obstacles.

Earlier this month, the IPCC’s Sixth Assessment Report came out detailing the impact of human activity on the environment utilizing more advanced climate science, technology and data to give an even greater insight and predictability of the future.
We talk through the importance of setting clear and understandable objectives and then how we could motivate the people who are implementing the change.
In this episode, I talk to fellow coaches Kristina Cockbill and Doris Tse as well as Juan Morales from our Marketing department about applying the techniques we use in organisations to get big initiatives off the ground.

Forward-thinking organizations have realized that with the changing pace of today’s world, where we're seeing government policy change moment by moment, where they used to be set in stone and not change without an act of parliament, over many months, if not years has now been turned on its head post COVID. There are organizations out there that are now staring down the barrel of rapidly changing government policy, that makes quite a substantial difference to their industry and they need to take advantage of that.
There are so many ways to achieve that, without implementing a brand new framework that nobody understands, a new language and Agile is one tool in a toolkit but it's not the only tool. Not everything is a nail and that's the hammer. Look for what you're trying to achieve and then bring the right technique, the right practice, the right discipline to bear to make that work. That's where you’ll find the difference between Business Agility and Agile.
Agile and planning has never delivered one single thing of value. These things do not deliver value. People do. These are just ways we work, so if you want to really improve the performance of an organization, Agile is just a tool just like anything else. The people are what is going to make that happen.

Business Agility Transformations involve a business changing the way it approaches work, culture and roles within the business, so what happens to the history of that business? It is where it is now based on what it’s done in the past, so how much of that past should it hold onto? What’s worth holding onto and what do they let go of?

During our second episode of At Home With Interesting People, EPiC Director Brad Bennett asked our guest Matt McCormack from Cognizant, about the big lessons he’s learnt from his years of doing digital transformations.
He replied: Executives are generally smart people at what they do, but know very little about transformation.”
You can see that they’re incredibly good at what they’ve done and they’ve been able to build their way up to an exec level. And there’s always this sense of “they have to know about transformation” and you look at them go “You’ve never done a transformation in your life!”
“I think it’s very confronting (for them) to understand that they don’t know much about the transformation journey they’re about to go on.”
