Ho - Ho - Ho!
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or whatever you do on the 25th of December in your part of the world. Welcome to the annual festive episode of E&ESRWE&E.
We get through a lot in this week's offering including Emer's Annual Quiz, our assessment of the carvery offering at The Bell Pub on the Castleknock/Blanchardstown border. Plus, we also exchange Christmas presents and Esther demonstrates what every host needs to make any gathering truly sing.
We've had a ball this short season and we hope you did too. See you in 2025! We won't leave it so long next time. And if you want to keep the carvery party going, we've listed all our roast-cations in this lil' doc for you. Have fun!
Love,
Emer & Esther

Ahoy Roast Potatoes!
Our festive triology continues and this week we head to the leafy streets of Milltown, Dublin 6. In this episode Emer shares EXCLUSIVELY the subscriptions she's signed to for the festive season and the ones she's had to leave behind for this fiscal quarter. Plus, we discuss roast headlines from around the world - the sun never truly sets on the carvery empire, that's for sure. And we also reveal news of Esther's bronze tit. It's a festive delight that will warm the cockles of your bain maries.
Happy roasting!
Love,
Emer & Esther

Hello Roast Potatoes!
Ireland's leading roast/carvery detectives are back for a limited time only with a special, seasonal Sunday Roast trilogy. And this week we're kicking it all off with a trip to adorable Chapelizod Village in Dublin, the home of Mullingar House.
In this episode we talk about Emer’s squirrel habit, exclusively reveal our top three Cadbury’s Heroes selections and of course give our analysis of the sit down roast we had a stones throw from the Pheonix Park.
We hope you love it!

Hello Potatoes!
In this special episode supported by Laois Tourism, we loaded ourselves into Emer's Nissan Juke and headed to the gateway to Ireland's Ancient East, County Laois.
Not only will you hear about our experience at Treacy's Bar and Restaurant this week but we also discuss our favourite place to spend €34 per visit, Sostrene & Grene. We also struggle to pronounce Dune and we share our digital detritus.
A full season 4 will be back soon but for now, enjoy this little treat from the bain marie.
Love,
Emer and Esther.

Hello Potatoes!
We're back and ready to 3-2-1 RO-HO-HO-HOAST for the winter season.
Starting off our seasonal journey for this mini series, we pulled up our sleigh (Emer's Nissan Juke) to The Black Lion in Inchicore, Dublin.
In the episode, we rated and reviewed our experience in forensic detail as you have come expect from Ireland's premiere carvery/roast detectives. But before we dived into the meat and two veg of our Black Lion carv experience, we talked about all manner of things including Esther getting ghosted on Done Deal, corn snack Queens, cream cake dreams and lots more besides.
And we have news! To help keep gravy in the tank, for this season of the podcast, we've created a Winter Podcast Selection Box on Patreon. There you will find full, ad free episodes. If you want to support us there and enjoy our reviews, just click here. The full, ad free festive episodes feature sit down carvs, stand up roasts and our Christmas Day special including Emer's Christmas Quiz.
We're so glad to be back...LET'S GO!

We are taking the summer off from carvey-ing but will keep you warm in our hearts, like cabbage under a heat lamp.
For this our series finale, we head to Cumiskeys on Blackhorse Avenue, just a stones throw from the Phoenix Park and wowee Susie - it was a good one.
Enjoy this ep and see you all again soon!
Enjoy the summer and don't forget your SPR - the world is on fire bbz!

Roll up, roll up me hearties for here we are with another incredible, non-award winning episode of E&ESRWE&E.
As we speak, Emer is recovering post Harry Styles at Slane and Esther is being virtuous and going for a run after her stint in the mini marathon last week.
In this episode, we hit the road and adventured to Park Ri service station in Kells, County Meath. Inspired by comedian Michael Fry, we saw for ourselves what the Cook of Kells had to offer and we weren't disappointed.
As always, thanks so much for listening. If you enjoy the pod, why not pretend to be Bono and tip us a coffee/tiny gravy boat here. It all helps keep Emer's Nissan Juke on the road in search of the best in carvery and roasts on the island of Ireland.
See you next Sunday!

Holy Bank Holiday Weekend Batman!
The sun has got it's hat on but bain maries all over the country are still fired up, ready to protect and serve roast pots and active joints to whoever needs them.
This week we went to The Headline Bar on Clanbrassil Street and a fun time was had by all. Emer had just gotten her nails done, Esther was dressed for a heatwave and the bells of St. Patrick's Cathedral were bonging away in the background.
As always, thanks so much for listening. If you enjoy the pod, why not pretend to be Bono and tip us a coffee/tiny gravy boat here. It all helps keep Emer's Nissan Juke on the road in search of the best in carvery and roasts on the island of Ireland.

Hello carv and roast lovahs and thank you for choo-choo-choosing to join(t) us again on the good train Emer 7 Esther's Sunday Roast with Emer & Esther.
This week, we left the Nissan Juke at home and took the Luas to the Galway Hooker, located inside Heuston Station, Dublin.
What delights awaited us? Only one way to find out Potatoes!

There was a time when Emer believed there were only 3 rich people in Ireland - Bono, Enya and whoever owns all the Big Tescos. She now knows that Ireland is awash with secretly loaded folk and they probably get their housekeepers to do their shopping in Dunnes Stores, Cornelscourt which was also the site of this week's meal deal, carvery extravaganza.
But the fun doesn't stop there. There's also mice talk, supermarket chat and Esther sitting in someone else's gravy. Now that's entertainment!

In yet another exciting instalment of Ireland's premier carvery/roast podcast, we continue to discuss the most mundane and pointless of topics all in the name of gentle entertainment. This week: a new Aldi for Stoneybatter, Esther falls in love with a tiny bus and Emer talks about gondolas. It's got something for everyone/nothing for anyone.
And of course, we also conducted an investigation into The 51 Dublin, Haddington Road, home of navy wearing men and multiple sports blaring, flatscreen TVs. Did we love or loathe our experience? Well my little roast potato, there is only one way to find out...

The Taj Mahal, the Grand Canyon, the Kildare/Dublin border. All three are magical destinations for those in search of inspiration and reset. But at only one of these great places, can you order yourself a tip top carvery meal and enjoy more Michelle de Brun memorabilia per square inch than anywhere else on earth. Which is why we pointed Emer's Nissan Juke west and headed for the Poitin Stil, off the N7.
What did we think of our carv experience?! You'll just have to listen to find out.
As always, thanks so much for listening. Oh, and if you enjoy the pod, you can tip us a coffee/tiny gravy boat here. It all helps keep Emer's Nissan Juke on the road, travelling Ireland in search of the best in carvery and roasts.

Hello Roast Potatoes,
Like two spring lambs, this week we gambled and pranced to the magical land of Palmerstown in Dublin 20, just off the N4. The focus of our carvery investigation for this episode was Palmerstown House on the Old Lucan Road and a good time was had by all. Chief Wally, Esther, forgot to turn the mics on for the first 15 minutes of the pod so this one is a bit shorter than usual but we'll be on our A game again next week.
Thanks so much for listening! Oh, and if you enjoy the pod, why not buy us a coffee/tiny gravy boat here. It all helps keep Emer's Nissan Juke on the road, travelling Ireland in search of the best in carvery and roasts.

Well, kiss us on the lips and call us Joe Biden.
This week we continued our journey into the West but this time, we were kicking it up a notch. We were thrilled and jammy enough to be - hashtag gifted - a stay at The Lodge at Ashford Castle in order to sample their incredible three course Sunday roast menu. And what can we say - it was a work of culinary art. But not only was the food and service top drawer - the grounds were stunning too. Imagine a dream Sunday where you trot around the gardens of Ashford Castle, take a little ferry trip on Lough Corrib and then top it all off with the incredible roast lunch at The Lodge. Did we sell out? Absa-frickin-lutely but we'd never lie to you - this was an incredible lunch and well worth the treat.
Thanks for listening again this week Roast Potatoes and see you again next episode when normal carvery service will resume. Oh and if you want to pre-order Sophie White's new book (out 4th May) you can do so here.
Yours in gravy boats,
Emer and Esther.

Don't call it a comeback - call it season 2 of Ireland's only podcast dedicated to the art of carvery and roast lunches hosted by two women called Emer and Esther
We took a little break to digest life (oh, and Emer wrote a book) but now we have returned, committed to travelling the island of Ireland and seek out brave new carvery confections.
In this two part episode, we hit the road in Emer's Nissan Juke and head west to Corrib Oil in Castlebar, County Mayo where a listener assured us a great time would be had by all. In the forecourt of a petrol station, we tucked in to a take-away container of a carvery experience - a first for the pod. And to further celebrate our return, Emer even did a special Easter Quiz for the day that's in it.
Enjoy and Ramadan Mubarak, Happy Easter and Happy Passover if you celebrate them but if you don't happy Sunday!
We're so eggs-cited to be back.
Peace and roast potatoes to you,
Esther and Emer.
