Our latest episode whisks you away on a supernatural journey through the haunting legends and eerie traditions of East Anglia. We start at the East Anglian Folklore Centre in Colchester, unraveling the rich history of Halloween customs, like the flower-adorned graves in Witham and the mesmerising divination rituals that once defined All Hallows' Eve. Discover how commercialism has morphed these once somber traditions of remembrance into today’s festive spectacle.

We were very excited to join Lucy Barker at Red Lion Book Shop in Colchester to discuss her debut novel "The Other Side of Mrs Wood".
The Other Side of Mrs Wood is a tale set in a world of illusion and rivalry where the reader is deeply immersed in the high society of Victorian London. With each seance another layer of the rich tapestry of intricate lives is revealed and how closely their fates are interweaved. The story follows Mrs Wood as a celebrated medium in a world where other mediums are either being revealed as frauds or seemingly outshining her with their more elaborate displays. After hearing a yawn at one particular gathering Mrs Wood decides something needs to be done. Enter Miss Finch. A young girl who wants desperately to be a medium, and after haunting Mrs Wood’s house, is taken under her wing as a pupil. But she is no so innocent as she first seems…If you have any more information about these stories or want to share your own experience please contact us via: [email protected]
