Today we're taking a look and talking about some of the really cool stuff in Austin's DQ collection, like his DQ Tact Super Famicom box (you read that right!), as well as other rare things like his Kenshin Dragon Quest plug-and-play set and how it serendipitously made its way from Japan to south Florida without him even being involved. And way more!

At the request of our lovely patron Jeff the Seamonkey, we're talking about DQ Spin-offs that could actually be a success rather than just niche cult classics. It's a lot of fun to get the ideas flowing, and BJ cannot stop thinking about all the various cozy DQ games that could exist. Oh, and Austin was wrong about Ron Glass. He apologizes.

This will probably be our final DQ3 remake episode for a while, at least until BJ finds his Switch and stops being a total goober. The post-game of DQ3 is really cool, though it can get frustrating if you're working on doing it to 100% completion. What have your experiences been with the postgame, and were you like Austin and the superboss? Want to know what that means? And just who is Ron Glass? Gotta listen to find out!

What's that in up in the sky? It is a flying whale? An airship? No! It's Austin riding the slowest flying mount in JRPG history--the Godbird (also known as the Everbird). We talk about a lot this week, including travel times, the end of the game, finding more orbs, and retracing your steps. It's a fun time!

This week, Austin and Beej talk more about Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D remake and the town-building aspect of it. Also, the Nintendo Switch 2 was announced, so that had to be covered, as well as the annoyance of joycon drift and other fun stuff like that.
Be sure to subscribe on YouTube, too, at https://youtube.com/@dqfm, and let us know what you think things and the name of your town in DQ3! Is it Merchoburg?

Welcome to Season 7! How cool is that? There's a lot going on with Dragon Quest in 2025, and we talk about everything we know about, as well as things we're hoping for. Will we see DQ12 this year? How are the DQ 1 and 2 HD-2D remakes coming along and when are they going to be released? Is Beej finally gonna get some DQ Monsters games he's only dreamed of from the Japanese 3DS? We discuss it all in this week's episode, and hope that you'll join us!
What are you most looking forward to in 2025 for Dragon Quest?

This week, we go into a more spoilery discussion of the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D remake, and we talk a lot about the different aspects that hit new players as well as the absurdly high encounter rate in this game and the parts of games that just make us want to put it down and take a break. Also, Beej has his dumb hat on again.

This week the duo continues to talk about the DQ3 remake and apologizes for not being able to record together in the same room last week. Fun is had all around, and you get to hear about Austin dying in DQ3 HD-2D, so that's fun.

This week, both of us have dug into the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake. Evne though Austin has already played through the game, he still has lots of thoughts about the beginning and just the system overall. BJ has a ton of thoughts, too, but one thing's for sure: the DQ3 remake is fantastic.
Be sure to follow us on YouTube and let us know what you think about the remake so far!

We're back with more video, y'all! This week, we've been isekai'd into the worlds of all the Dragon Quest games, and the roles we expect to play may be a bit different than what you'd expect!
Also, be sure to check us out on YouTube at https://youtube.com/@dqfm, and if you're using a standard podcast player, you should be able to see the video there, too!
But since we're trying to build the YT channel based on y'all's feedback, give us a like and subscribe and comment over there. Thanks everyone!

We asked for your feedback on how to expand the podcast, and one of the top responses was YouTube videos. So we're giving that a shot this week. If your podcast client supports video, it should play right along, and you can find it on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@dqfm
As for the episode itself, we discuss how we think the DQ3 HD-2D Remake is going to be and reasons why you should pick it up in November like we are. (Not a sponsored thing, either. We're just really stoked for it.)
Anyway, let us know what you think and remember to vote in our poll at https://patreon.com/dragonquestfm to let us know how you want us to expand.

There's a lot going on in this episode as we prep ourselves for DQ3's HD-2D remake, and it's better, we think, to just let you experience it for yourselves. Enjoy!

This week, we've put together a supercut of all our DQB2 episodes. That's right, the episodes from way back when to just today are here for your listening pleasure. That's over 4 hours of Austin and BJ! You're going to love it.
Episode timestamps are at 55:48, 1:39:58, 2:226:20, 2:58:04, 3:26:47, and 3:54:56

This week is our DQB2 deep dive on bosses, and surprisingly, this is a part of the game that didn't hold up as well. At least to our memories. While Austin still has things to say about Moonbrooke (who'd have thought!?), BJ doesn't even remember some of the bosses existed. But he doesn't remember half of anything anyway, so how is that different from normal?
Enjoy!
