After spending the last several months (YEARS actually) studying habits and the different ways that they intertwine with our self image and identity, I'm excited to dedicate an episode to just a sampling of these ideas.
This episode is an invitation to step into the power of your unique voice and live with joy, shedding the constraints of a rigid self-narrative.
James Clear's "Atomic Habits" takes center stage in our discussion, offering a look at how small changes can lead to monumental shifts in our self-perception and identity. We navigate the landscape of neuroplasticity, taking a look at how altering our daily routines can rewire our brains and reinforce our self belief.
We end the episode by illuminating the subtle distinction between being humble and modest. Instead of diminishing our light under the guise of modesty, we champion humility as a genuine expression of self that empowers both ourselves and those around us.
Join me for an empowering conversation that encourages you to live unapologetically, honor your successes, and to inspire a collective ascent to loosening those laces and living out whatever largeness lies within you.
P.S. Please help me out and tell your friends this podcast is back! Apple Podcasts has paused a huge amount of listeners without them knowing. Between that and my (highly diminished) reach on social media, barely any of my subscribers even know that the podcast has returned. Thank you for sharing in any way you can! Hello to all of my new listeners and welcome back to so many of you! Today I want to share something that I recorded several years ago called Wear Sunscreen. This spoken word song was a guiding force for me in my twenties and is something that I believe everyone can learn a little something from.
If you haven't heard it yet, you're welcome...and if you have, listen to it again.
Thanks so much for all of the shares and messages and people out there listening. This is one of my greatest joys and I'm soooo happy to be back!Follow LeAnna and Curating the Curious:

In the world of buzzwords, I think we’ve all heard the term “generational trauma”? But what about generational JOY? I mean, how much more interesting is that idea?? Leaving a legacy of joy! Is it possible? I don’t even know…but I definitely want to try.
I’ll never forget the day that I read and wrote down those two words by Laura Aziz. At that time, I was knee-deep in sifting through everything that was less than joyous in my life.
In that moment, Laura’s words gave me hope. And not just hope, but also a new target for me to aim for.
Laura and her words have often left me standing in awe as I try to figure out how she does it? How she always seems to be able to sum things up in a way that completely shifts my perspective.
Today, we are revisiting Laura's episode from the past: "You're Gonna Die". This one with Laura Aziz was one that stayed with me in many ways. Laura’s ideas and way of speaking truly hit me (every time) and I find myself thinking back to certain quotes of hers or things that she’s written quite often. I think I need to bring her back to chat again, but before I do, I wanted anyone who didn’t hear this to get the chance…and if you already did, it’s probably worth another listen.Follow LeAnna and Curating the Curious:

What would happen if we truly all believed that people out there really do want us to succeed? What if we believed that people want to learn from us and work with us and hear what we have to say with a true sense of childlike curiosity (and a completely open heart)? Would we share more? Would we censor ourselves less?
One of my favorite things about living curiously is having the belief that we can all write a new story whenever we decide to. It's not too late and you're never too old to start again and begin anew.
We also hear from Layne with an update on last week's performance! She tells us her future plans with her band and new projects they're working on.Follow LeAnna and Curating the Curious:

We're back with a new episode! This time, we have a very special guest...my baby girl, Layne Azzolini. Layne has been spending her time this year writing songs and today she's decided to share one with all of us.
We talk about what it feels like when someone makes fun of something that we're proud of or puts us down. We also discuss the fact that as we get older, the voices of doubt in the back of our minds seem to get a little louder.
Although things can sometimes knock us down, we have to remember not to allow anyone to break our spirit. Layne has helped me through the years to connect with the childlike wonder and freedom from my younger years. Her wisdom is a reminder for all. Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

One of my FAVORITE parts of each interview is when I ask my guest about the one book that they feel that everyone should read and why. There are no right or wrong answers...it's all about learning new and interesting ideas and opening our scope of what we feed our minds.
This particular episode is one that you'll probably want to have a pen and paper handy, in order to take a few notes. I bet you'll learn about at least one book that you never knew of before. Even if you happen to be the greatest bibliophile alive and don't learn any new titles, I guarantee you that you'll at least be persuaded into reading something that you hadn't previously considered.

I'm baaaaaaaack!! It's been a while and boy, have I missed you all. I've been busy learning how to "sort my mail" and get this life of mine back on track. Today we will catch up with things that have happened since I dropped that bomb of a last episode back in March.
Things burning through my mind right now...friendship, being and introvert, paradigm shifts, the beauty of living in the gray area, and basically just finding a way to exist (and flourish) in this deeply divided world we are living in.
I'm taking you on a quick review of the tectonic shift that has been my life so far in 2022 and hopefully answering some questions that so many of you have had for me.
Spoiler alert: I'm all good now...finally! No Mud, No Lotus!Follow LeAnna and Curating the Curious:

“If you are a woman who dares to show up in the world in any way—big or small—the backlash will be swift and fierce and painful. It will come from men and women and people beyond and in between.
When a man puts out his work, the world asks: is his work worthy?
When a woman puts out her work, the world asks: Is she worthy of putting out her work?
So…rarely will her criticism be about her work at all. It will be about HER."
-Glennon Doyle

Today we have Michael Ash Smith from Unvaeled and Mber Creative. Michael wears many hats and this conversation covered it all. In this episode we discussed:
the backstory of Unvaeled and how his magazine Unvael Journal came to bethe social media algorithm and why we shouldn’t take low engagement personallyhow to embrace reels and rather than fighting the current (while maintaining your artistic integrity)how to begin in analog photography and the beauty of slowing things downself portraits and the different ways they can support our ability to interact with clients (most importantly though, the therapeutic side of it all)This is a good one guys. You are an artist.
We are all artists in some way. Each one of us creates, shapes, molds, or even bakes things of some sort. We all dream, dance, plan, sketch, sing, and imagine new ideas. We’re not required to be good at these things…it’s all about the process. The light that it brings to your heart.
The moments of joy, energy, inspiration and flow will strike when you least expect it. Pay attention and follow where it leads. You are an artist and you belong. There is a creative space in this world for everyone. Welcome.
Today's episode is something I wrote this week and wanted to share with you all. I hope you enjoy and would love to hear from you if you do!

What does living a life of curiosity mean to you? Out of all of the things that we discuss on this podcast, that last question is my personal favorite.
No one person sees it the same way and every interpretation leads me closer to understanding what I was doing when I decided to create this show, with this name, Curating the Curious.
We've pulled this compilation together from each interview in the past year in order to inspire and also discuss what possibilities could be out there for all of us.
Hearing all of these words from each of our past guests has been music to our ears here. Hopefully it will be the same for you!Follow LeAnna and Curating the Curious:
