On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 16th and the 20th December (Episodes #11,441 - 11,446).
It may be the season of goodwill an' all, but sorry, we just can't bring ourselves to feel all that charitable about the Lauren story this week, which reared its head again with a fresh batch of misery for the terminally tragic teen. This time, Frankie's being diagnosed with aplastic anaemia - will Dee-Dee step in to help, even if it means keeping her own unwanted baby? Also this week, the word's slowly starting to get out that Daisy was the one who caused Shona's injury last week - though that's nothing compared to the hot gossip that Sally picks up on Friday when she sees Carla and Lisa kissing on the cobbles! Meanwhile, preparations for Gail and Jesse's wedding are in full force, though is Audrey right about her making a massive mistake?
Up next, it's The Kabin, and we chat about Lorna Laidlaw's recent appearance on another podcast talking about her time on Corrie, and we round off the show with some more of your feedback.

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 9th and the 13th December (Episodes #11,435 - 11,440).
It may have made things a bit tricky when we were writing out the notes for the episode, but there was quite a bit of criss-crossing over of stories this week, which we always enjoy - and even better when drama with the Platts is at the centre of it! Gail and Jesse's wedding plans, Max taking his eye off the ball with Frankie and getting him whisked away by the Deerings, and, of course, all the intrigue surrounding Shona's accident on Monday night made for another explosive week on the cobbles, and we had a great time chatting about our reaction to it all. Not only that, but we also had Daniel and Daisy getting closer again, some brilliant scenes with Evelyn and even a new actor playing little Harry - great stuff!
Not really very much in terms of news this week, so we skip over The Kabin section again and finish off with more of your feedback.

Our bonus episode this week is a character profile of Stu Carpenter, who left Weatherfield for pastures new a couple of months ago after three years on the cobbles. After strumming his way onto the street in 2021, the guitar-playing vagabond-turned-Speed Daal chef has been involved in a handful of big stories over the years, most notably when we found out about the truth behind his wrongful imprisonment that saw him serve nearly thirty years behind bars. But how will Stu be remembered - as a lively breath of fresh air or an underused character who never quite reached his potential? Join us for a look back at his time on the street in our latest podcast!

On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 2nd and the 6th December (Episodes #11,429 - 11,434).
Christmas time is nearly here, and as an early present, Corrie gave us a reprieve from all the police stories (well, mostly..) and instead focused on two of our favourite families of the Street: the Platts and the Battersbys. They may have been at each other's throats or otherwise ready to fall to pieces, but what's a soap Christmas without a family bust-up, eh? Leanne's plan to get revenge on her disloyal sister was delicious, and although we're always on the side of David and Shona staying together, we can't deny we were hooked by the mystery of what she got up to on Wednesday night... Meanwhile, you've got classic Corrie callbacks aplenty with Les' funeral, Rowan's on trial, plus there's plenty of Debbie Webster and even a rare Gail appearance... all in all, a lot to sink our teeth into!
After Street Talk, it's The Kabin, and we couldn't not discuss the front page news about the reasons behind Sean Wilson's axing. Plus, the Christmas TV schedules are out, so when can we expect to see the festive Street drama over the festive fortnight? We round off the show as always with some of your feedback.

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about what went on in Corrie between the 25th and the 29th November (Episodes #11,423 - 11,428)
Bit of a funny week for us this week as the pair of us watched two of the episodes separately from each other, so recording Street Talk was the first time we actually got to hear each other's opinions on the week's goings on! To cut a long story short, we're both very much invested in the revenge that Leanne is plotting for Nick after discovering that he and Toyah are still having it off behind her back - and the prospect of seasoned vindictive cow Tracy Barlow acting as spurned Leanne's second in command makes us all the more excited! Also this week, Carla gets a bonk on the bonce when Mason's brothers are interrupted breaking into the factory - will her near-death experience spur her on to making a proper go of it with Lisa? Meanwhile, Alya returns to Weatherfield and spares no time in picking up where she left off with Adam, Lauren finds out whether or not Frankie can join her in the clink, and we learn of the off-screen death of Les Battersby - but was giving the character the heave-ho in this way a good move?
Although there's a bit of news we could have covered this week, for various reasons we decide to put it off until next week's podcast, but we still manage to squeeze in a bit of your feedback before we finish things off - including another lovely iTunes review!

On our latest podcast, we have a natter about the episodes of Coronation Street shown in the UK between the 18th and the 22nd November (Episodes #11,417 - 11,422).
It's the aftermath of the big whodunnit week, and Max is behind bars again after confessing to the murder to protect Lauren. Unfortunately for him, when David and Shona find out about what he's done, David's happy to throw Lauren under the bus - but did he do the right thing? Meanwhile, there are some saucy Swain and Connor scenes this week, as the latter decides to Swarla her pride after weeks of hesitancy and jump between the sheets with the undercover detective. Also this week, Mason's brothers are on the prowl, Dee-Dee finds out she's up the duff-duff, and Cassie resorts to desperate measures to keep her job as Ken's carer.
In The Kabin, we celebrate Corrie's recent wins at the RTS NW Awards, and we finish things off with some lovely feedback.

Following last week’s big reveal of who killed Joel, our latest bonus podcast dives into Coronation Street’s rich history with whodunnits. Our favourite soap has been keeping viewers guessing about killers’ identities as far back as the 1960s, with some of the most iconic examples including the murder of Frank Foster and, of course, the tragic death of Rana Habeeb in the Underworld roof collapse. But it’s not just murders we discuss - we also revisit times Corrie gave us suspect lists for other crimes, like when Ken was pushed down the stairs and when Adam was bludgeoned in the Bistro. So, what makes a great soap whodunnit? And which ones are our absolute favourites? That’s exactly what we explore in this week's episode!

All the flashbacks, intrigue and misdirection have been leading up to this week's big reveal of who killed Joel, and in this episode, we chat about our reactions to whodunnit. Was it everything we'd hoped it'd be? (Not quite..) Was there anything that we definitely didn't see coming? (Absolutely!) Were all the loose ends tied up? (Definitely not!) Corrie may claim to have shown us everything that happened on the night of Joel's murder, but we can't help but feel like we'll be flashbacking to the 27th September at least one more time before this story is through.. Also this week, Shona's ne'erdowell son Clayton makes a return to our screens for the first time in over four years - but has he really seen the light? And speaking of redeemed wrong'uns, just how much sympathy are we supposed to be having for Mason right now? Lots to talk about in this week's show, so we hope you enjoy (even if you may not necessarily agree with us 100%..!)
Just a little bit of news in The Kabin this week, including the reveal that Alan Halsall will indeed be going into the jungle for this year's series of I'm A Celebrity, and we round the podcast off with more of your feedback.

Recently, we were lucky enough to be invited to a press day at Coronation Street, where as well as being able to schmooze with the stars at the recently refurbished Chariot Square hotel, we had the chance to explore the treasure trove that is the Corrie Prop store, meet new producer Kate Brooks, and even team up with a pair of cast members to take part in a pub quiz - held in the Rovers Return and hosted by Sally Ann Matthews!

On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown between the 4th and the 8th November 2024 (Episodes #11,405 - 11,410).
Things are certainly hotting up in the murder mystery story this week, and our prime candidate for whodunnit Kit has finally joined the official list of suspects. There's an awful lot of evidence pointing towards him for sure, but could Corrie be planning one last twist in the tale? Also this week, we had Paul's space launch on Wednesday. And if you think that sounds weird, by the end of the week we had characters talking about ghostly apparitions and Paul's essence being in an alternative dimension. All part of that gritty, down to earth drama that Corrie's famous for, eh? (We jest - we did pretty much like it on the whole!) Also this week, Tim discovers Mason's been hiding out in the shed and soon becomes his surrogate Stu as he sees the good in the once zombie knife bearing scallywag. As well as that, there's more stoma drama for Bethany, a visiting order from Clayton... all in all, it was a pretty jam-packed week!
Up next on the podcast, we chat about some of the new items of merch available on the ITV website (including a pretty nifty Corrie Christmas jumper) and we round things of with a load of your excellent Joel theories in our feedback section.

Recently, we headed up to Manchester for a few days to see a performance of KIN, the fantastic two-woman play penned by Corrie's Christine Mackie (Dr Gaddas). While we were there, we also headed over to the Coronation Street Experience to check out some changes to the gift shop, chatted with some of the cast members outside the studio gates, and tracked down a few more filming locations, including the spot where Peter's iconic AA meeting was shot and the place where Joel's cars were recently found after his disappearance! We're up in Manchester for a few days at the moment with a bit of a busy schedule, so this week's podcast is a Street Talk only affair, covering the episode of Corrie shown in the UK between the 28th October and the 1st November (Episodes #11,399 - 11,404)
The flashbacks return in this week's episodes of Corrie, giving us a few more hints as to what happened the night of Joel's death. Since the start, we've been pretty convinced it was Kit who did him in (or maybe Gus at a long shot) but is the whodunit still working to keep us interested? Also this week, the Dev's Devving it up to the max at the quads' birthday party, leading to a surprise popping the question that goes down like a lead balloon - can he and Bernie recover? Meanwhile, Cassie and Steve spend the night together, the news of Gail's engagement starts to spread and Mason pulls Liam from in front of a speeding car - are we seeing a redemption story here, and is he the kind of character we really want to see being redeemed?

Greetings from the future! This weekend's podcast covers the episodes of Corrie airing between the 21st and the 27th October (Episodes #11,393 - 11,398), so if you've not watched the early upload of Sunday's episode on ITVX yet, you might want to hold fire on listening to this straight away as there are spoilers aplenty!
It was a proper Platt-centric set of episodes on this week's Corrie, and even Gail was back on Wednesday after being conspicuously absent from her own story for the past fortnight. Not that she wasn't having a rough time of it though - in fact, she was barely back five minutes before she was being carted off to casualty with a heart attack! Elsewhere on the Street, both Kit and Gus are keeping a close eye on Dee-Dee - but are they just hoping she'll lead them towards clues about Joel's killer, or have they got something to hide themselves? Meanwhile, Cassie's presence at No. 1 continues to irk Steve, Nick struggles to resist his feelings for Toyah, and there are critters in the pittas at Speed Daal...
Not a whole lot in the way of news this week, but we do check out a new set of official Corrie merch on the ITV shop - and it doesn't exactly get a a glowing review... We round off the show with more of your thoughts on Joel's killer, Stu's hasty exit and the early uploads in the feedback segment.

The Summer of 2005 is remembered by many Corrie fans for all the wrong reasons. Hot on the heels of dark, dramatic storylines such as Killer Katy and Mad Maya, the June to August period saw the show taking a much less headline-grabbing change of pace. While Charlie’s abuse of Shelley continued to simmer in the background, most of the other stories taking up screen time were there primarily to make us laugh. From Scooter and Sarah's koi carp caper to the boxing ring clash between Ashley and a rival butcher, not every story was a hit, but does the period deserve the derision it so often receives? Having just watched the episodes on ITV3 recently, Michael's here to share his thoughts!

Today's podcast covers what went on in Corrie between the 14th and the 18th October 2024 (Episodes #11,387 - 11,392)
It's another extra-long show this week, but not because of another lengthy Michael rant about the scheduling - nope, this time it's because we've got a murder mystery on our hands (and unlike the Lauren one back in the Spring, this time somebody's actually been murdered!). Yep, Joel turned up dead in a sack on Monday's visit to Weatherfield, and there are plenty of characters with the motive and the opportunity to have done him in. Did Mason do it as payback for Joel's treatment of Betsy? Did God-fearing Dee-Dee go Old Testament on his arse? Or maybe it's just what at this point seems to be the most obvious suspect, DC Kit Green. There are still plenty of clues still to be revealed in flashbacks, but we try to piece together all the evidence so far. Joel's not the only character we had to wave bye-bye to this week either, as Stu hangs up his whites and heads of for a new life in Germany - and not even Yasmeen seems that bothered by it! We've also got more drama at the Platts (with no sign of Gail!), a trip to A&E for Sam, and yet another 'the Winter-Browns are poor' story. It wasn't all gold, but on the whole, we thought it was a pretty decent week!

On our latest edition of the podcast, we chat about the episodes of Corrie shown in the UK between the 7th and the 11th October 2024 (Episodes #11,381 - 11,386).
After kicking off the show with some impressions of The Street of Lies, Corrie's brand new choose your own adventure book set in 1983, we delve into the week's episodes, and the minefield that is the return of Jesse Chadwick combined with the official start of Swarla relationship. We've all seen the romance between this pair coming a mile off, and although there's still a good deal of denial going on from both characters after the electric scenes on Monday, they now seem to be a lock-in for Corrie's next big couple... and we've got a lot to say about it! Same with Jesse's return, as the forgotten cowboy (no, he wasn't a clown) mosies back into Weatherfield with his heart set on Gail. Yes, we know a lot of viewers would have preferred Martin or, well, pretty much anyone other than who we got, but we're giving Corrie a bit of a break here, and actually, we've enjoyed what we've seen so far! Also this week, Hope's vape habit nearly leads to a blazing inferno at No. 9, Mason's brother Logan makes his debut, and Paul's family discover a letter containing his final wishes.
Up next on the show, it's The Kabin, and unsurprisingly, the news that Corrie is moving permanently to 'online first' morning uploads dominates the discussion. We're both feeling pretty strongly about this shake-up to the scheduling, and we don't necessarily agree with each other either! If you're a fan of a good Conversation Street rant, hopefully you won't be disappointed with this one! And that's not the only Corrie news this week either! Stephen Reid's jacket going up for sale on ITV Reloved, a royal visit to the set, and some sad news about the death of a Corrie icon from the 70s... There's a lot to cover here! In fact, it's probably for the best that we didn't have a whole lot of feedback this week - although one email from a listener whose friend was an extra in a recent scene still manages to end up causing a bit of a segue into a discussion about Corrie's sustainability efforts.. Yep, all and all it's a long show this week - we hope you enjoy!
