We make mistakes, but mistakes don't have to make us. There's no failure, there's only failure to learn something from those mistakes. Sometimes we get stuck, because we won't take a chance on something, because we're afraid of looking bad. Some people will take a class on coding or speed reading, and if they're not good at it the first time, they don't want to look bad in front of other people. I want to encourage people to make their own mistakes and then learn from them, that's how we grow. I don't know one strong person that had an easy life. My biggest challenge was learning and now that became my strength.
Jim was once known as the “boy with the broken brain.”
A childhood head injury at age five left him struggling in school. For a while, he even believed he could never be as good as other kids when it came to learning.
Jim loved superheroes as a kid – and comic books saved him when conventional education couldn’t. "Most people are scared to start. That's not fear, no one's trying to hurt you. You're calling it fear but the truth is, you're just embarraseed to be seen starting small. Most people are too embarrassed to upload a video and get 10 views. They're embarrassed of what others will say. Of course it's going to fail at the beginning, of course no one's gonna buy at the beginning. You have to try and try and perfect it as you go. "If you're looking to grow a company, it's like deciding to go on a really long run. So, usually most people after 2km they say "I'm done". Then some people quit after 5 km. And there are some people who just don't wanna quit, they want to run the marathon. It aches, it hurts, and when you get to 21 km your body says "you can't go on", it becomes really hard, but after that, it becomes easier. Some people want to go all the way to 100 kilometers. The same is true for business. For some people 2 million, 5 million is enough. Some get to 20 million, and only 1 in about 5,000 businesses ever scale to 100 million. For me, 20 million was like the 21km mark. I was stuck there for a long time. After you grow past that, it becomes easier. It's easier to scale when you're at 100 million than when you're at 10 million."

They say when you join a Mastermind, that you should aim at being the "dumbest" person in the room. That's exactly how I felt after spending a full day with highly successful people at the Mastermind.com offices in Scottsdale, Arizona a few days ago!
