Hi, friends! I have decided to take the summer off from podcasting to focus on my non-profit, Anderson's Alert, and to take a mental health break. I will be back in August.

Hi, friends! This episode is a BIG one! One of the main focuses of my advocacy is the lack of childcare absence laws and regulations in the United States. Did you know that there are only THREE (yes, you read that correctly) states that require childcare facilities to call parents and caregivers when a child is absent and no alert was given?
I truly believe that I should have received a call the morning of June 28th from my son's childcare facility inquiring about his absence. The outcome could have quite possibly turned out differently for my family.
My dear friends, Rebecca and Lana (a Director of a childcare facility in Pennsylvania), joined me to discuss their thoughts on the lack of regulations and laws when it comes to making phone calls after a child has not been dropped off at their provider.

Hello, friends! Let's take a ride into a not-so-happy birthday celebration for our pup, Miles. What I found on our adventure was scary and triggering but we got through it, not without having to call 911 though. Yikes!
In my previous episodes, I informally introduced you to my elderly next door neighbor who is battling cancer. Listen along as I share a tidbit of advice from him that he has been giving me for months that I deliberately ignored.
This episode is on the lighter side this week but still serving you a lesson on why this podcast is here.

In this weeks episode, I talk about what gave me the strength to sell our home we started our family in and the struggles I face after downsizing.
Listen to the first shared near miss experience and how it changed this mother's perspective on hot car deaths.
All statistics mentioned are sourced from Kids and Car Safety.

In this episode, I am sharing what happened to our family on June 28th, 2022 and the detailed events leading up to that day.
One of the biggest causes of hot car deaths is change in routine. Listen as I explain how our lives drastically shifted from the beginning of June until that day.

Welcome to Beck's Backseat to Change! This is a podcast dedicated to raising awareness surrounding hot car deaths and near misses, bringing more attention to how easily these tragedies occur and how easily they can be prevented.
In this introduction episode, you'll hear a short breakdown of some of the topics we will be discussing on this podcast, such as the wonderful organization I was introduced to after the death of my son and husband, Kids and Car Safety, and the non-profit I created in my son's honor, Anderson's Alert.
I'll go over who NHTSA is and talk about what a near miss means.
Listen as I share my highlights. Even in the darkest of times, there's something to be thankful for and I want to share those moments with you.
