Having written together for about a year, they are newcomers to the scene but are deeply passionate about the songwriting process. With no strict adherence to a single genre, their music is a reflection of curiosity, emotion, and creative freedom. Though they have only played live a few times, their focus remains on creating songs that resonate and evolve with each performance.

Jeremiah began playing drums at around 12 years old, mimicking music videos on MTV. Throughout high school he was trained by Jeremy Price and had his first paying gig at 16. Jeremy also encouraged him to pick up guitar as a means of doing something musical in the evenings that wasn’t quite as loud. The most important thing he got from Jeremy, however, was the inspiration to teach music at some point. After years as a drummer and one of the songwriters for Grass Monkey, he decided to step back from performing, and began teaching as a way to help others while still doing what he loved most. For the last decade he has operated Rhodes Music Instruction out of Raleigh, NC. When he’s not working on his business, he’s either in one music studio or another as a session musician, or hanging out with his daughter, who is way cooler and more talented than him.

Seph Custer is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Southwest Virginia. For his first 7 years in music, his career revolved around playing lead guitar, banjo, slide and mandolin for numerous rock, americana, blues, punk, alternative, and traditional bands. With a desire to combine his love for a wide range of music, and a shortage of musicians to perform the required parts, Seph embraced the role of front-man for the first time in 2014. Since then, he's fined tuned his sound over the course of two studio albums and over 1,200 live performances, combining his diverse music taste with his skill set from several instruments; all delivered with only vocals and a modified guitar. Seph Custer delivers high energy solo performances utilizing techniques from guitar, mandolin and bass to create a soundscape on a single instrument that rivals some 3-piece bands: no looping or pre-recorded tracks required.
Seph has been featured in The Floyd Country Store’s annual tribute concerts, covering Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Carole King, and Paul Simon. In 2015, Seph's music was so well received at Callaway Brewing Company, they named a small batch German Wheat Ale "Sepheweissen." Seph Custer & The Papa Tom Band were included in Floydfest’s 2017 “Artists on the Rise” competition. In 2018, he became a member of Brackish Water Jamboree playing mandolin, joined them on tour, and performed alongside them in the “Rockn’ to Lockn” competition.
His first solo album, 'Where You Are' was released on January 19th, 2016. 'Where You Are' consists of 8 tracks, including 3 songs with violinist Laurel Brooke. It has been featured on 101.5 The Valley's Music Place, The Roanoke Times, and on various blogs online. 'Where You Are' was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Windfall Studios by Dave Fason in December of 2015.
Seph's sophomore album, 'Beginning to End' features 12 original songs, touching on many genres; Americana, Funk, Bluegrass, Singer-Songwriter, Folk, Blues, Old-Time, and Rock, all performed with only guitar and vocals. 'Beginning to End' was recorded live on November 1st at Windfall Studios - engineered, mixed and mastered by Dave Fason, all on site. It was released worldwide on November 18th, 2017.
As well as being a performer and composer, Seph teaches acoustic & electric guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, bass, violin, slide guitar, lap steel, dobro, and music theory.

Colby Rorer is a Roanoke native, father, husband, and music enthusiast. Began playing various instruments in middle school and high school. Eventually starting gigging at restaurants and in backyards — not even knowing you could charge for gigs like that. From there it’s been a very slow, organic growth toward becoming a regular act at local bars, breweries, and restaurant patios. Self taught, with the help of close friends, and practicing everyday. The heart of Colby’s music world is the Troublesome Blues Band: a steady group of musicians who have fun wherever they’re welcome.

Cory has been testing the limits of his vocals with each song he sings since the band was created in August 2015. With a booming voice, mixed with a soul grabbing projection, and a dash of expression with emotion, Cory is sure to grab your attention with any song on their playlist.
Cory says that his passion for music is fueled by the energy and emotion the music brings to life. From the personal connection to the songs and to the energy of the crowd that each song brings, this is what keeps his love for music alive.
Cory says his favorite part about performing is the feeling he has when he's on stage. It's a stress relief, an adrenaline rush, and it really feels like it's the only place he fits in sometimes.
Meet Brian Jones, Bassist for LouD. Brian is considered to be the showman of the group. He loves engaging with crowd and showing his skills and talent to anyone and everyone that likes a good show.
Brian has been with LouD since February 2022. He says that his love for playing the bass and the God given gift to do so, it what fuels his passion for music. Being able to jam with like-minded musicians that have the same passion and drive as he does is very important in that passion and drive for him. Brian has been playing the bass since 1998, but actually started playing in church around 1979. It's just a part of his DNA. Being a cancer survivor and having a second chance at life fuels his passion that much more for music and entertainment. He's thankful for every day. Brian says the best part of performing, for him, is being able to make people get up and move. For him, it feels like they are a part of the show which he enjoys; the dancing, watching the crowd sing along, everything. It's just an amazing feeling when the crowd gets pumped up and ready to rock with them. "It's the energy they give us, it's like no other".

The Kind, a Blacksburg based folk-rock band, is familiar to anyone who has passed through the New River Valley in the last thirty plus years. Formed in 1986, The Kind plays in a variety of styles that ranges from classic rock, R&B, and jazz to bluegrass and country; however, the arena which they most frequently blend their diverse influences is their huge melting pot of Grateful Dead covers. Over the years, The Kind has been privileged to perform with the likes of Jorma Kaukonen (Jefferson Airplane & Hot Tuna), Rick Danko (The Band), Merle Saunders (The Jerry Garcia Band), The New Riders of the Purple Sage, and Jefferson Airplane. The Kind combines strong lead vocals and harmonies together with intertwining melodies and soulful rhythmic grooves to produce a fun, flowing and danceable experience. They are equally at home in a laid-back acoustic setting or a high-energy electric experience.
