This was the introduction episode for many people. Some of us grew up watching the U.K. original on Nikelodeon. This series took concept and ran with in. Throw in beautiful actors, much better special effects, and storylines not aimed at school aged kids, and you get the CW version of The Tomorrow People.

Stephen Jameson is a high school student struggling with voices in his head and waking up in strange places. He quickly learns that he is a Tomorrow Person, genetically superior to normal humans. Cara and John tell him his long-vanished father was their leader and he can be the key to finding Jack.

But Jed and the ULTRA organization are out to find and stop them. ULTRA is made up of Tomorrow People working for the government. Jed says they are seeking to protect civilization from the powers of the Tomorrow People. However, we find out it as personal vendetta. Jed is Jack's brother and Stephen's uncle.

  • Remember It.

A title we won't ever forget. One of those moments you will always know exactly where you were and when you heard it.

The most unexpected ending we could ever have imagined. And that gutted us. Like being hit by a Sentinel sized fist right in the stomach.

Rogue is devastated. We all are. The sheer amount of loss this episode is unprecedented. Words cannot express the impact on our hearts.

Farewell Gambit. Farewell to all the fallen.

  • The Waverider has crossed us over into another universe where another world has its own superheroes and super villains. We are covering the Netflix series Jupiter's Legacy based on the Image Comics of the same name.

Sheldon convinces Richard to come with them. The group pushes toward the center of the island, and they quickly find that there is no going back. Obstacles are placed behind them that prevent that. But the way forward is not easy as well. The physical challenges they face are nothing compared to the mental and emotional challenges. There is no way to get around the personal issues they have with each other. They must confront them. We have hard conversations and true feelings come out. They reach the end of the line where they discover groups of skeletons, in groups of six, from all across the world and through time. Our group fights each other until Grace stops them. Once they reconcile the way is opened and they are judged worthy. On a moon of Jupiter, they are given powers and costumes. But power is also spread from the island to the rest of the world.

In the present, the Union calls on Raikou to help delve into the Blackstar clone’s mind. She is the daughter of Walt and a mental powerhouse herself. Grace and Sheldon confront each other about the Code and the ability for the younger heroes to follow it. Petra, Fritz, Walt and Raikou use all their skills and powers to revive the brain. But Walt gets sucked in and only Raikou’s power is keeping his mind and body connected.

  • The OG's are back this week with our discussion on the sixth episode, and it's a tense one!

We spend most of our time in the past as the team is assembled an on their journey to find the island, but first they have to find a captain willing to risk his ship and crew into the treacherous waters. The voyage doesn't go well, as the closer they get to the island, the worse Sheldon gets with his mental clarity, and the whole team wants to turn around once the storm hits the ship.

But with some perserverance and brute force, Sheldon takes over the ship at gun point just long enough to break out of the storm, and suddenly there's the island!

Meanwhile during our present day story, we are focused on Grace and her struggles dealing with all the younger Union members and their questions about whether to follow the Code still or not, which brings her own morality into question. Another member goes down and she is forced to exact justice with extreme violence in a very epic and electrified battle!

  • The Waverider has crossed us over into another universe where another world has its own superheroes and super villains. We are covering the Netflix series Jupiter's Legacy based on the Image Comics of the same name.

The first episode "By Dawn's Early Light" lays the groundwork for this universe. We have a group of heroes The Union of Justice or the Union for short, who seek to serve the world with morals and integrity. Their leader, The Utopian lays out their code. "Service, compassion, mercy, those are the words we live by. That is our Code, and it's the most important thing in the world." But that Code is hard to live by in a changing world.

The Utopian, know also as Sheldon, and his wife Grace, who's alter ego is Lady Liberty, have two kids. The Code and their parents' life as heroes have had dramatic and dividing impacts on them. Brandon, know as Paragon, wants to carry on the Union. He is not his father and even though everyone tells him he can't live up to that legacy, he tries. But even his father is unsure of him. Meanwhile his sister, Chloe, is rebelling against the code, her father and his morality. We have the original heroes who have served the world since the late 1930's and then the next generation who have inherited their powers. All are put to the test when the supervillain Blackstar breaks out of prison.

But that is only part of the story. We also get flashbacks to the 1929 era where we see our heroes before they gained their powers. It shows us the forces and morals that shape them for decades to come.

It was a bold first episode. It raises a lot of questions. It also seeks to examine many of the issues and questions about how superheroes would really work in the real world. Our podcast is ready to examine them all along with you our loyal community.

  • The Waverider is flying Zambesi, New Zealand and Salvation, North Dakota trying to stop Mallus or Mailas from taking over the world.

“Guest Staring John Noble” – The Legends must stop Grodd from killing Obama in his college years, but that is just one of the crazy things going on this ep. Nate & Wally join Amaya in Zambesi. They convince her older self to pass on the totem and her daughter Esi to take it up. Damien joins the Legends to stop Mallus from forming and killing Nora in the process. They have to get John Noble to read Mallus' lines in the process. But things go south. Damien double crosses them, releases Grodd on the village and let's Nora escape.

“The Good, The Bad, and The Cuddly” – Rip sacrifices himself to buy the Legends some time against a fully formed Mallus. They head to Salvation, North Dakota where Jonah Hex is sheriff. Zari sends for help and Ava, Jax, Helen the Amazonian, and Kuasa Vixen come to help. The Legends must use the Totems to form a defender, but the first attempt fails. Ray and Damien go back in time and save Nora by sacrificing Damien to be Mallus' host. The Legends and friends must fight an army of Romans, Vikings, and Pirates. While they are being held at bay, the Legends form Bebo who defeats Mallus with wrestling moves and the day is saved.
People love this ep, people hate this ep, and people are in the middle. We as podcasters were right there with them. Overall, we really loved season 3 and had forgotten how good it was, because we were hung up on the finale. But we appreciate the season more now. We loved going through it with all of you.
