  • Let’s talk about the art of letting go, the concept of sayang, and how we can attract the good and thrive in an imperfect life when we relax our hold on what’s familiar.

When Tin came across Cherie Altea’s post on Facebook about how sayang is a term of endearment in Singapore, but refers to wastefulness in the Philippines, it got us thinking about life and how our world view shapes our lives.

In her post, Cherie talks about her mentor who taught her that “holding on too tightly to stuff and withholding things creates stagnant energy in one’s life, how to never withhold the good from others, be it a kind word, your time or settling payment for a debt. And to give must be without fear of having less, and without expecting anything in return other than the intention to share the good.”

Cherie is an artist who was based in Singapore for 12 years and relocated to Manila in November 2022. As an independent artist who has had no gallery representation throughout her career, her vibrant maximalist artworks have found forever homes across the globe in places like New York, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Texas, Singapore, Koh Samui, Manila, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Vancouver, Atherton, Sydney, Bath, and Bahrain.

She weathered her cancer journey and the death of her marriage, and soldiered through her creative process despite the uncertainties and curve balls thrown her way. Thanks to the power of social media and the internet, strangers from all over have taken a chance on her work and continue to empower her career one painting at a time.

That said, she is a beacon of hope for women who are looking to reclaim and rebuild their lives through the health and relationship challenges that we are faced with and we believe, built to overcome. ✨

  • It’s 2024 and if there’s one thing both astrologers and business leaders agree on, it’s that 2024 is going to be a pivotal year. Astrologer or finance guy, they collectively seem to agree the shifts will be subtle but the impact will forever change the way things are done - and to quote visionary investor Ray Dalio, these changes will be felt in markets, economies, domestic and world order, geopolitical and economic issues, the handling of the climate, and technology issues.

If that sounds intimidating, it is talaga! What do these shifts mean for us and our children who will be riding the crest of these changes? Change is difficult. Will our children be mentally and emotionally ready for a new world and a new way of doing things? Especially these days when the talk among the Titas are of kids going through anxiety and depression, which has become more common than it should.

Inspired by our insightful chat with Lakan, Mitch, Sasha and Lia from our last episode on Family & Work Life Balance (give it a listen if you still haven’t!), we’ve invited Sasha to join us once again to share with us how she is embracing the ever-changing tides with a healthy and balanced outlook on life, which began with working on herself, and in the process, overcoming depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation.

Joining Sasha is her mentor, Rega Stellar Pe, a world class Intuitive Forecaster, Spiritual Mentor, and Senior Healer. She serves in leadership roles within three international organizations: BElife Institute for Higher Consciousness (BIHC), Wisdom Institute for Leadership and Global Advancement (WILGA), and the World Institute for Incurable Diseases (WIID). Within WIID, she leads the DABSEM line, producing unparalleled energy healing solutions for depression, anxiety, burnout, and sleep disorders.

Are you ready to make sense of this depression phenomenon, Titas?

    Game, let’s start!

  • It’s the holidays and life can be cray! We don’t know about you, but among our Tita friends, there will always be someone who will say that as we’ve aged, they have developed a sense of compassion for The Grinch and Mr. Scrooge. Is it wisdom or is it simply waking up from the commercial conditioning that Christmas has wrought upon us? After all, when all the gifts have been given and opened and the last drop of drink has been consumed, did these things really bring us joy?

Isn’t the holidays more than just merriment? Isn’t it about going back to the true spirit of the season? Celebrating it with loved ones and being grateful for being together? The true gift, not just this season but all throughout our lives, is a loving family that provides us with a healthy support system. Is this achievable given these busy times? Let’s have a chat with today’s guests, the Bautista Family, headed by Lakan and Mitch with their daughters Sasha and Lia, and discover the practical tools and strategies Lakan and Mitch have embraced to juggle diverse pursuits and achieve balance. Learn how they foster a supportive and fulfilling environment for their daughters while simultaneously maximizing their own potential. Let’s gain insights from their journey and build a life that resonates and inspires us.

Are you ready to unlock your own formula for balance? Join us on this enriching journey together!

  • We always ask our listeners to suggest topics and “urgency culture” came about. That got us thinking, “What is the right level of urgency and how do we protect ourselves against the demands of urgency culture?” Because older Titas like us have no sense of urgency as you can see by our intermittent episodes, LOL, we thought of interviewing somebody young with the right mix of being responsible and fun! So we asked junior matrona, Paolo Lorenzana of @Mafalda.Makes, to join us today to weigh in on today’s topic, as well as get to know the real Mafalda. For those in the know, Mafalda.Makes on Instagram and Substack is the place to learn new noodle recipes, discover interesting places to go here and abroad, as well as watch entertaining food reviews sprinkled with commentary referencing hilarious pop culture. The content is as humorous and entertaining as it is knowledgeable and well-written. This comes as no surprise given that Paolo knows food and has been chronicling culture and lifestyle for over a decade. He is currently the editor of CNN Life, former Creative Director at Wildflour Cafe & Bakery, Inc., holds a Masters degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School in Journalism and has over 15 years of publishing experience. So sit back, relax and let’s kick it, Tita Style!

  • Have you met your inner child? Apparently, whether you are a parent or happily child-free, we all have that inner child that needs to be nurtured. Although as the meme goes, some claim it’s an inner old lady who says inappropriate things and judges everyone. LOL.Seriously though, inner child or inner old lady, we all need to connect to that part of ourselves that still has that childlike innocence, creativity, and joy, as well as heal that part of us with unmet needs and suppressed childhood emotions so that we can truly live our best life.In this episode, we have mom of two, wife of one and energetic healer Jen Tan. Her path from motherhood diverged into something different when she learned about energetic healing. She first learned about this when she had her kids, and intuitively felt more comfortable in giving natural and homeopathic remedies. In her quest to learn more, she was led to a place where she studied more about energetics. She did her very first class on Angel Channeling around 2015, which snowballed into one workshop after another until she did her very first Millennium Method class in April of 2016. In 2017, she certified as a Master Practitioner because she knew she wanted to help other people in their own journey.Let’s jump into the rabbit hole of archetypes, shadow work and inner child healing! 🎈

  • Let’s talk about the big, scary monster under our bed that we all know as Trauma.Joining us is Teacher Yen Belarmino -Nikolic. She is a trauma-Informed Yoga practitioner and educator who started yoga as a spiritual practice in 2008. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, Yen has a longstanding involvement with women’s human rights advocacy in the Philippines. A staunch advocate of yoga and other healing practices, she is creating awareness for these practices to not only be trauma-informed but also accessible to the marginalized and disadvantaged population. We have so many questions - like do all traumas have to be major disasters? Is it true that many of our decisions and reactions in life are trauma responses? Are we all just walking talking balls of trauma? Why is there a refusal or reluctance to discuss traumas and how do we heal from our traumas? If there’s one takeaway we hope you get from this episode, it’s to understand that trauma is a normal response to someone with a healthy nervous system, and there are always ways to heal, when we decide we are ready.Spoiler alert: We will be okay 🫶🏻

  • We love it when we come across thought provoking ideas. Something that makes us pause and think deep, beyond the usual everyday decisions we make. When we came across the children’s book, “What The Sun Says To The Moon”, we admit, we didn’t really have the imagination to visualize these two celestial bodies talking, or to even think about the kind of conversation they would be having. Ano kaya pinaguusapan nila?On this episode, we chat with Trina V. Milan. She is a wife, a mom, a former preschool teacher, entrepreneur, and now author of a children’s book inspired by a pillow talk conversation with her then 5 year old son, Sandro. We talk about positive communication, emotional regulation, violent reactions and how to start conversations. We hope this episode inspires you, dear listener, to make time for creative pursuits and engage in meaningful conversations with your kiddos! 💫

  • This month of March, we celebrate Women! The Philippine Commission on Women sees Women’s Month as a venue to “highlight women’s achievements and discuss continuing and emerging women’s empowerment and gender equality issues and concerns, challenges, and commitments.”On this episode, we talk to Jasmine Baac, head of legal and external affairs for a fast moving consumer goods company. Outside of the corporate world - in her family, community and on social media, she is known as Bagoyan. In 2020, just as the world was about to be put on standstill by the pandemic, she started her passion project, her eponymous fashion label @Bagoyan and became a social entrepreneur with the goal of promoting Kalinga’s culture and traditions through Kalinga weaves. She shares how we can empower our fellow women, her creative process keeping in mind what women want to wear, and the opportunities and challenges that face women today as we attempt to answer the question, can the woman of today really have it all? 💖

  • New Year, same us! The collective sentiment it seems is that no one is buying into the “New Year, New Me” mindset anymore. Ever since we were kids, we have all been promising to change for the better whenever the New Year rolls by.

This year, we are putting our foot down on resolutions, saying no to reinvention, but instead go deeper into self-exploration.

On this episode, we talk to Kyla Centeno @katryakyla who is a business coach and Human Design expert.

In a nutshell, Human Design is here to help us recognise our unique and innate gifts so we can be aligned to who we are, and to find happiness and success in the process. Now isn’t that what we all want out of life anyway? ✨

  • We’re about to close the second season of Tita Project and we love how our topics have evolved the last two years. We initially sought out to just learn about what’s new and what’s happening so we don’t become clueless Titas. But as we dug deeper into this life stage called Titahood, we realized that to truly not be clueless, we need to cultivate self-awareness. To become self-aware, we have to know ourselves and work on ourselves - understand our core values, triggers and reactions to triggers, set boundaries, and more than that, be able to manage and process our emotions as we traverse the path to healing and self-love. In this episode we talk to Aurora Suarez @yourheartcraftedlife - life & career coach and creator of writing workshops and courses on journaling for wholeness. She believes that through writing and journaling, we get to “know and accept both the wise and lovable parts of ourselves as well as the unclaimed and broken parts, so we can begin healing wounds and honoring our truth.” Goosebumps! ✨

  • Today let’s talk about boundaries! Ano ba yan? Bakit ba nauuso ang concept na yan?

“Uy tumaba ka!”, “Ang dami mong pimples, go to my derma!”, “When are you getting married?”, “Shouldn’t you have kids by now?”

These remarks may seem harmless but are all examples of overstepping boundaries. We think it’s about time to unpack this issue.

Even in the workplace, the lack of boundaries encroach professional settings. There’s pressure to attend after work events, working on weekends, talking about another’s personal issues or being chismosa about co-workers.

Many of us were taught to be people pleasers, to be agreeable, to be team players, but people don’t realize how the failure to set boundaries will only make us feel disempowered and resentful of our failure to stand up for ourselves. Which circles back to mental health.

Joining us again is Zarah Hernaez, a Mental Health Advocate and Self-Love Coach. She joined us back in Season 1 to talk about Mental Health and to this day, this episode has helped a lot of us understand the importance of taking care of our holistic wellbeing so we can live fulfilled lives and have a healthy relationship with ourselves and others.

Enjoy this 2 part episode on the Gift of Boundaries 🎁✨

  • In one of our earlier episodes on tidying, we talked about how important it was to have a home that feels like a sanctuary. After all, our collective experience where we had to spend most of our days at home, especially during the height of lockdown, brought many of us to the realization that our homes aren’t just a place to live in, it should also nurture us and inspire us. Today we’ve invited Rachelle Wenger, popularly known on Instagram as @everyday_flair so we can talk about how we can bring beauty, style and flair to our everyday lives! 🌿✨

  • This episode is brought to you by @novawellnessstore, a healthcare and wellness shop and soon to be growing retail chain of community wellness stores that carry various organic, vegan, non-GMO, cruelty-free and carefully sourced products.

Nova Wellness believes in the healing value of nature, art and a good mystery, and that is why they created Lagupogo, a children’s short and fantastical story of what could happen when we don’t take care of our environment.

We talk to Photographer @michael_perfecto and paper artists, @sabi.snips & @krissiemateo.art about inspiration, process, and the magic of collaboration ✨

  • When we started the Tita Project Podcast, we knew we had to have an episode dedicated to BTS and the Tita Army phenomenon. Whenever there’s a BTS concert or event, it’s like social media fires up and there’s a BTS frenzy happening, and its not just because of our kids, in fact the most enthusiastic fans seem to be our fellow Titas! Parang it’s the Beatlesmania all over again circa 2020s! Today, we turn to Kage Gozun, surfer, writer, photographer and best of all, BTS fangirl to shed light on a topic that is close to a lot of Titas hearts! 💜

  • If there’s a common thread in all our discussions last year, all roads lead to self-awareness. How do we pivot during challenging times? What kind of jewelry do we invest in? How do we listen to our body? Should we spend for cosmetic surgery? How do we tidy from the inside out? How do we find happiness in simple things? Key to answering all these questions is how well we know ourselves. But how do we get to know ourselves?

Let’s talk to Kit Malvar-Llamas, ADMU & Cornell University alumna, certified facilitator and coach in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Gallup’s Strengths, and Conscious Parenting Method of Dr. Shefali Tsabary and CEO of Conscious Alchemy and Camp Explore. She says happy and successful know themselves. Of course, we all want happiness and success diba!

In this episode, we also talk about what to do when we get triggered, how to overcome procrastination, asking for help and how neuroplasticity helps us consciously and deliberately change our wiring to enhance our life, health, relationships and career as we tread the path to self-awareness.

  • So friends, let’s talk about plants 🌿

Because whether you have a black thumb or you grow plants that are Planterina levels of lush, many of us have realized that taking care of plants is not just a curiosity or hobby, but a life skill!

The benefits of taking care of plants range from a prettier space, better air quality to mood enhancing effects - lowering stress levels and anxiety and of course, having actual fresh herbs and veggies for our meals.

Joining us on this episode is Cat Juan-Ledesma, a woman of many talents. She is a communications professional with a Master’s Degree in Media Practice from the University of Sydney, a model, journalist, an advocate of local brands and products (check out her IG @trylocalph) and most impressive of all, she has a green thumb! Which is why we asked her to come on board so we can learn how to grow and nurture plants from her 🌱

Plantitas! This episode is for you!

  • It’s the holiday season! What better way to welcome Christmas and the New Year with plenty of cheer…✨ We’re talking Sta. Ana Gin guys! Have you heard of it? Have you tried it?

We were immediately intrigued the first time we saw the bottle, and all the more when we found out that it has a Philippine flavor, the botanicals inspired by our country’s rich foliage - Ylang-Ylang, Alpinia, Calamansi and Dalandan.

It truly is a luscious gin, hearing and seeing it pa lang. AS IN. So much more when you smell and taste 🍸

Joining us is Monica Llamas-Garcia, co-founder of Santa Ana Gin and Brand Ambassador Aaron Goodall. Let’s get to know more about this beautiful gin created as an homage to the dancehall days of 1920s Manila and its crown jewel, the legendary Santa Ana Cabaret.

    Cheers! 🥂

  • Whether your anxiety is through the roof, depression has been setting in or you just need a radical life changing moment, there’s one thing that can help, and it doesn’t cost anything. We’re talking about tidying! According to Tita MFO, tidying your space can help you get your dream job, leave a toxic relationship, find love, get your kids to do better in school and generally change your life and bring you joy, so let’s talk about all that!

  • Let’s talk about makeup and beauty trends this time. Do you still put on makeup? Or have they been stored in your makeup pouch since 2020? Is doing your face still relevant since everyone is masked or staying home? Or is it a wonderful way to draw strength from? Remember how Hidilyn Diaz famously wore red lipstick during her Olympic event, saying it makes her feel confident when she wears it? Ganyan!

Joining us today is @lizlanuzo, founder of the widely read beauty blog @projectvanity, which also happens to be a community of avid beauty enthusiasts on Facebook.

Let’s explore how and why beauty is often mixed up with vanity 💄
