The Silly History Boys are on trial...and they plead silly!
This weeks episode puts the 'ARGH' in Courtroom Drama as we are flung screaming into the bubbling cauldron of medieval justice...with Trial by Ordeal.
Water, Fire and Combat are the only to freedom this week via the stories of...
Queen Emma of Normandy's red hot trial by FIRE
The PAINFUL trial by COMBAT between Guy of Steenvord and Iron Herman
And Thomas 'Tom FOOL' Fermor vs the Sweet Shop Owners of Derby. Lets hope they throw the book at him.
The court orders you get in your ears and laugh as much as you learn!
Or else!
The court recognises ZapSplat for their awesome music and SFX and will have them put up in a nice hotel!
Scott Buckley is awarded damages for the use of his epic music in such a silly show.
Lord Fast Fingers is let off with a slap on the wrist for his rendition of the Silly History Boys show theme tune!
-
He's back!
Katana's sing and hearts flutter as one of the show's early heroes returns!
Miyamoto Musashi is thirteen going on forty (judging by his voice)
He yearns to be the best swordsman in all Japan but his Father wants him to commit to the family business...
Unfulfilling Saturday jobs and duels to the death are the order of the day in this definitely true retelling of the boy hood of perhaps the most famous Samurai of all...
And what the historical record lacks in detail...the Silly History Boys fill with gags!
Want to give us a (sword) tip? Then hit the link and hit us up :)

Oh hi there our lovelies.
You looked stressed and/or full of sugar. It must be half term!
That means the Silly Boys aren't here, but babysitting your ungrateful brood of-... little darlings.
The Pear Bear and Bilbo have been at the Jorvik Viking Festival (at least one of them will have broken their hand in sword school) and it gave the us an idea for content.
We've smashed together four Norse Myths (starring all your fave gods) from a cross-over we did last year.
All four tales in one place.
The Mead of Poetry
Thor goes Fishing for the Midgard Serpent
Loki and the Golden Apples
and
Beauty by Baldur
Big thanks to
ZapSplat
Scott Buckley
Danny Bradley
Freshman Sound
For Music and SFX!

Big thanks to the nation of Egypt for being a good sport with all the fun liberties taken with your rich history.

A bit of the Pyramid of Unas (that Pear Bear chipped off) goes to Lord Fast Fingers for the Intro

-
Mummy! Mummy! The Man Mummy!
It's Myth time again dear listener!
Let us away to ancient Egypt to hear the suntanned tale of how the first mummy came to be.
We don't actually do that here but we lay all the ground work!
There's sibling, er, lets say Rivalry. Fratricide! And Braiding of Hair! All the things your stuffy history prof wouldn't teach you coz it's just too silly...and dangerous and sexy.
Big thanks to ZapSplat for their awesome music and SFX
The biggest pyramid is reserved for Scott Buckley and his top notch music when he dies
Lord Fast Fingers will be getting his own SIGNED* Panini sticker of former Boro striker Mido. (* by PearBear)
"Do The Battle Of Hastings like you promised"
- Henry Coates (Skegness)
"I'm still waiting on the American Civil War you melts"

Come get us on all the socials and please do rate and review. It would mean the world to us and our mums.

Happy 2024!
Now that the new year is here...we all deserve a holiday!
So pack your sun cream, chainmail and Song of Roland double cassette!
Cos it’s a Norman holiday!
It’s 999AD and everyone’s least favourite French Vikings on horses are off to see Jerusalem!
Hopefully the journey will stop them being quite so horrible*, certainly once they see the holy city** they’ll no doubt become much nicer! They won’t just get into a scuffle with some Saracens and lay the foundation for the conquest of Italy and the Crusades…***
Join the Silly History Boys in a conjecture heavy adventure across boiling seas and sweltering deserts where we finally learn the origin of
The Salerno Tradition…what’s that you ask?
Erm just listen!
Thanks as ever to ZapSplat
And to Scott Buckley
And to...
You.
*it won’t
**no
***yeah it’s that
-
CRUSAAAAAAAADE!!!!!
The Third Crusade to be precise! Join the Silly Boys as they examine the motivation of all the key players of the Lionheartiest of all the crusades.
Oh alright, it's silly voices, sword noises and facts.
Get amongst it!
Thanks as ever to ZapSplat
And to Scott Buckley
And to...
You.
See you in 2024 dear listener! OKTHANKSBYEEEEEE!
-
Join us as we continue the tale of Richard I 'The Lionheart'... greatest King ever?
Find out this week!
Alright, you won't find out as that's an answer entirely too subjective to tackle in a show with silly voices and sword noises... but the silly voices and sword noises are extra good this week to make up for it.
Thanks for...
Music & SFX ZapSplat
The track Juggernaut by Scott Buckley
The track Medieval Banquet by Shane Ivers at Silverman Sound
The track Pendulum Waltz by Audionautix

This week we're taking a look at a King so famous he's on the football clothes - Richard I, The Lionheart!
But how did he become known as 'Couer de Lion' (The Lionheart)?
Join us as we deconstruct the events of the day and provide fresh analysis on the early life of probably the best King to ever have Kinged... or was he?
He wasn't he was terrible.
Also the 'analysis' is just our usual silly voices.
And noises from www.Zapsplat.com
And music from www.Zapsplat.com
But mainly music from Scott Buckley www.scottbuckley.com.au
With thanks to all of you for listening.
Kbye.

Watch out listener! It's Halloween and the passing of the season of the sun has brought a thinning of the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead...
Or it's just people putting on costumes and wandering the neighbourhood begging for sweets...
Either way it's time for another SpOoOoky episode of The Silly History Boys Show!
This week the boys have, once again, left Pear Bear by himself whilst they swan off to perform for actual people. This week's episode gives you a taste of what they've been doing live!
Then Pear Bear reads a poem.
A SpOoOoky poem!
Prepare your backup underpants!!

Who are the most famous family in history? The Tudors? The Stuarts? The Osmonds?
No! Wrong! Silly!
Just before 1066 and all that...the Godwin Family were 'god winning' the Dark ages!
Mainly through murder plotting and ACID.
So join the Silliest Boys in history and Tremble at the torrid tale of the house that Earl* built...
right before Anglo Saxon England got 'one in the eye' from William the Conqueror!
Vikings, Saxons, Normans and ACID** Oh and laughs! Lots of Silly Laughs!
An Earldome and a luxury hamper is winging its way to musical science man Scott Buckley

Oh God no! Not another Game of Death of Thrones of Death episode!
Shaddup and take your medicine.
You've had Kings from Ancient Greece shoppin' in Argos
Chinese Rulers on the bog
Holy Roman Emperors doin' scream therapy
But now it's the turn of the French not yet French!
It's the slightly embellished tale of Louis III. Not sure if he had a nickname. Louis the questionably amorous? We just don't know.
For always awesome music a big thanks to Scott Buckley
ZapSplat for some lovely SFX and more music

The Silliest boys in history are back! For the LAST INVASION of BRITAIN!
A true tale from Welsh and British history that is so silly, you'll think we made it up!
in the 1797 all roads lead to Fishguard, a small village on the Welsh coast including....
A sinisterly Yorkshire sounding French Convict army
The two biggest idiots in the British army (which 1797 is saying something)
One of Wales's greatest heroines with a shoe shop and a hammer
And A LOT of dodgy Portuguese plonk!
The Battle of Fishguard is one of the oddest/silliest events in history and what better set of idiots to tell you this tale than the Silly History Boys!
Thanks for joining us for Season 5 and thank you to....
ZapSplat for all the zapas plats and other sound effects
Scott Buckley For is his wodner music
Danny Bradley for his brilliant redition of Land of my Fathers
If you enjoyed us why not buy us a coffee or a tea or a hot juice on Ko-Fi

In school, remember that far back? Did you ever have that badly dressed man bore the pants off you teaching history?
His vocal monotony rapping his way through our dull backstory? WELL UNLUCKY FOR YOU!
For the sexily well healed sonic powerhouse that is you dear Uncle BobBob is going to take you through the ENTIRE History of England (part1)
Sit back (with your red pen?) and smugly raise the side of your mouth along with SHB's premium Zoom Historian.
You'll learn, you'll laugh, you'll something else beginning with L.

The Silliest boys in history are in Japan for the 'Revenge of the Forty Seven Ronin'.
The classic and true tale of old Japan...now with silly bits and sword fights!
The Samurai of Asano are dishonoured when their master is teased into poking a civil servant with his Tanto! And sentenced to a gruesome death (don't worry we only used balloons)
They decide that Revenge is dish best served...silly!
