Richie is joined by the Irish author and broadcaster John Waters.
Ireland's Supreme Court has upheld a decision to dismiss Gemma O’Doherty and John Waters' challenge to the constitutionality of laws introduced in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a six to one decision, the Supreme Court's ruling brings to an end to a controversial legal action commenced shortly after the State introduced various regulations and measures in response to the Covid pandemic over two years ago.
Ms O'Doherty and Mr Waters' appeal was against a decision by the High Court, later upheld by the Court of Appeal (CoA), not to grant them permission to bring their action against the measures on the basis that it was "misconceived and entirely without merit".
Giving the Supreme Court's lead judgement on Tuesday, the Chief Justice Donal O'Donnell said the High Court was correct to refuse to grant leave in this case.
John Waters tells Richie that while he is disappointed by the court's decision, he is also heartened that tellingly, one judge dissented. The guys discuss the meaning of the verdict and the coincidence or otherwise that it was delivered in the same week that the Irish government is once again talking up covid restrictions. Plus much more. Read John Waters here:

A review has found that children in Oldham were failed by the agencies meant to protect them from sexual abuse. The independent inquiry was set up after allegations circulated on social media that Oldham Council was covering up what it knew about grooming gangs in the town. Investigators said there were structural flaws in Greater Manchester and the council's systems which were meant to safeguard children. They found no evidence of a cover-up.
Raja Miah has briefed successive UK PM's and Home Secretary's on counter-extremism. He has also worked for Oldham Council and once headed up educational trusts. He received an MBE for his services. Raja has written a series of articles on the exploitation of girls in Oldham. www.recusant-nine.com.
In January 2020, Raja told The Richie Allen Show that senior officials in the Labour controlled council in Oldham, were covering up child grooming by Asian gangs, in order to protect the party's control of Oldham Council.
He came back on today, to share his reaction to the report that he says vindicates him, but doesn't go far enough in exposing what has really been going on in Oldham.
