One of the biggest questions that I am asked is, When and How to talk to kids about sex.
To me, as a midwife, of over 15 years it seems like an easy conversation that naturally happened and continues to happen with my kids. I mean when your mom is helping women have babies the natural question is how did they get in there in the first place!
In this podcast I explore when and how to talk to kids about sex. There is an appropriate “layering” of information that occurs as the childs awareness of sexuality and their own sexual development beings and taping into that with your conversations will help sex become as easy to talk about as life…because well sex is how life exists!!!
I also explore the topic of the Sexual Education system in school and why I feel like it needs an overhaul!
I hope that you find this episode helpful and useful.

It shouldn’t be a suprise to me as the rate at which girls are experiencing puberty symptoms is declining.
It has become the “new normal” and is now seen as normal for girls to begin puberty, to start seeing some physical changes around the age of 8.
This podcast will discuss what is normal and what is not in this scenario
Specific things to look out for.
Specific things that you can do to support your daughter’s body to develop in it’s most aligned timeline for this transition.
I address the question, “What can I do to slow it down” and even “Am I suppose to slow this down”
This podcast is FULL of education and useful information for you to feel supported in this process.
Enjoy!
If you are looking for more support and education around your own daughter’s puberty experience; I offer private one on one support. I help mother’s who want more education, support to make sure their daughter’s physical and emotional bodies are as in alignment as possible. powerful puberty.com -

The Birth Control was a "female empowerment" catalyst in the 1960's.
However today it is being prescribed to millions of tweens and teenagers, not as a contraceptive device but as a period ailment "cure"
This podcast explores what exactly the Birth Control pill is and how it affects the mind, body and spirit of a tween/teen.
It explores the physiology of the Birth Control pill and why long term use of a band aid "cure" is not helpful for most girls long term reproductive health.
This podcast DOES NOT explore the Birth Control Pill as a contraceptive option but rather as a prescriptive medicine that is being given to millions of girls, with little to no explanation or informed consent or options for healing the period issues that may be experienced at this age.
This podcast gives details what your daughter may or maybe going through and how to help support the healing and balancing of this cycle without birth control pills.
Enjoy

Being seen and being heard is such a HUGE part of feeling balanced, safe and secure as a human.
When people are going through major transitions in life there are all sorts of shaky feelings and experiences that come up to promote the growth into the next phase; puberty of course is a prime example of this.
The funny thing is so many people why I do this work? I get comments like:
“Well we all went through it just fine.” Like why make all the fuss about it?
“No one talked to me about anything it just happens.”
“It seems weird and strange (and maybe even wrong) to talk about it”
To me it seems weird and strange that such a MAJOR pivotal time period in someone’s life where there is SO MANY big changes going on (not just in the body but also the mind, the emotions, the hormones, the responsibility level, the personality, the social impact and so much more) isn’t talked about.
Which leads me back to Being Seen and Being Heard is CRUCIAL for all of us and especially for kids navigating puberty.
They may say it is weird or that they, “don’t want to talk about it” but I assure you they do. You have to get creative and be able to droop into deeper presence and allow them to be seen and heard, without fixing or judging; not always the easiest task!
I hope that you enjoy this short episode and that it inspires you.
